Bury by train

Only ever visited Gigg lane by car, has anyone ever walked from the station?
How long did it take?

Re: Bury by train

From the interchange it is under a mile, closer than Spotland to the station.

The last bus direct back is 1735 which should give you good enough time.

For the train you would have to get the tram from Manchester so takes a lot longer than the bus and costs more.

Quite difficult as there is no railway station in Bury!

Well aware of that - I'll be using it on Saturday. But no trains stop there!

Re: Bury by train

Like Chewbacca says above: the 484 does Accrington-Bury. Last one back is 5:35 or you can go a bit later by switching bus at Haslingden.

Re: Bury by train

The easiest for me is train to Bolton then bus to Bury but that's from Scotland however by train from Accy that would be the easiest option I'd think and there are later ones than the 484 bus

Re: Bury by train

Well/ whatever it is, Davo's going to have to catch it.

Davo, get a train from Lime St to Victoria, change to the Bury tram. As Accybeme says, it's a 20 minute walk to the ground...with one or two excellent hostelries along the way!

Yes, I know. It's Accy - Blackburn - Bolton then bus to Bury. Not ideal but possibly a better option than Manchester or the Accy Bury bus if the last one is around half five. It costs £8 on the train then whatever for the bus. I can do the plusbus ticket for another £3.70 with mine but there may be restrictions with local tickets.

A long way round but handy for a few pints before and after the game
