Re: Cambridge match thread
Ref was crap, Cambridge were very physical, their fans were awful - booing their own players (& ours at times) from midway in first half - well done Stanley, much deserved 3 points

Re: Cambridge match thread
Watched on ifollow and thought a great all round team performance. Pleased with the lad Fernandes... seems to be making good progress with his performances. Onwards and upwards.

After his disastrous start I’m also pleased for Baba who has done well for the last few games.
Also pleased to see Harry Perritt get some game time - we need a left footed defender.

Re: Cambridge match thread
I thought the ref was okay myself, might have got a few decisions wrong but certainly not a homer and generally tried to let the game flow.
Really solid performance from the lads, good to see such a positive mentality from the off. I expected Cambridge to put us under pressure second-half like they did last season at their place, but it didn't materialise, thanks in large part to how we continually pressed and tackled. Toby had very little to do.

Referee was same for both sides and wasn't a card happy one, yesterday we outplayed a very poor side at their place and when you look at the table 3 teams Plymouth, Ipswich and Wednesday are opening a significant gap between them and the chasing pack. With a decimated squad we still look better than the teams around us with players hopefully back fit and a decent January window I,m confident we will be ok.

It’s worse than being “decimated”.
Out of 28 first team players about 10 are currently out injured.
If such a word existed that’s being more than “ terticimated”!

That's a reasonable take on things, Andy, and I hope you are right. A couple of things bother me. Firstly, whether the likes of Milton Keynes, Burton and FGR will continue to be as inept as they have been; I would certainly expect MK at least to strengthen in Jan and make a strong push to stay up. The other thing is whether we can solve our problems up front. We're competitive in the middle of the park, esp. with Mitch and Rosaire pushing up, and the attacking situations we create are good - Shaun has been an astute addition in my view. But our conversion rate could be better, and lads like Adedoyin and Sisay aren't going to sharpen up their games sat on the bench.
