why on earth would we make a deliberate decision not to print enough programmes? the more programmes we sell the better! we had the same amount printed as we normally do for a gate of that size, however we sold more than expected. hopefully the upturn in sales will continue and on the strength of that we'll make sure we have more printed for the forthcoming games...

Re: Cambridge Program

bit silly that isn't it.
if the quality is better it's obvious more people are going to buy it....would've thought it common sense to produce more?

Re: Cambridge Program

I got the impression from the comments on eBay that it was intended as a limited run. Having said that there is no indication within the programme that suggests a limited numbered run or any other form of exclusivity.

If it was intended to do this to raise value on eBay then it’s a grave error of judgement as these things only meet there real value after changing hands from the original vender. The eBay sales are there to raise money for the club, by printing 350 programmes instead of 1500 the club as lost a serious amount of income. The programme auction may have been a misjudgement, but if the club wants to make something back on it I would suggest they guarantee the exclusivity of it and have it signed by the managers and players……….

I was selling them like "hot cakes" and many people made comments on how good the new programme looked. So hopefully the people that dont usually buy programmes, start to buy them.

£2...
A bargain, if you dont like programmes go and buy a pint in the Sports Bar

If my comment and assumptions are wrong Rob, then please except my apologies. What I think is of greater importance now is the quality going to be maintained?

Rob,

You are quoting my particular post.

Please read the earlier posts on this thread.

There is a strong suggestion that this was a limited edition of 350. There is talk of trading profitably on eBay. "Collectors' items" changing hands at many times their original price. And so on.

I haven't made it up, so please don't shoot the messenger.

If it is indeed not a "limited edition" then perhaps you will give positive consideration to the Cambridge fans' request (and, perhaps, that of many Stanley supporters) and possibly arrange for an additional printing.

I can't remember an occasion when I was asked by so many supporters whether I knew if there were any programmes remaining.

Finally , in response to your question "Why on earth would we make a deliberate decision not to print enough programmes?" . . . there's a small but important difference between printing enough programmes and actually distributing them on match day.

I find it hard to understand why people make the effort to stump up twelve quid to see the match and them skimp on the 2 quid for a programme? I have always looked on them as a part of the day and even paid a pound for the rather poor photocopy of last weeks Tuesday game. Why, because I see it as a way of demonstrating my commitment to ensuring the clubs coffers don’t ever go the way of 62. It’s cheep and won’t harm your health like the extra fags you buy before going to the ground or the very tombstone like beef burger that you buy once your in?

Re: Cambridge Program

Would poster’s please take account that it maybe me that’s got it wrong and may have misled you ”Innocently” into believing that it was a intended limited print run. I may have got this mixed up, However, please take a look at eBay and form your own opinions on the matter.

sorry henry, wasn't a dig, the demand was genuinely a lot higher than usual. i am sure that we'll look into getting a few more run off for those that didn't get them :-)

Thanks, Rob

I'm sure that's exactly what the true Stanley (and Cambridge) supporters want to hear.
It will also be the best thing for the Club. And I always back the Club.

Re: Cambridge Program

It's just a bit funny that when we had an almost capacity crowd against Halifax there was no shortage of programs.

Re: Cambridge Program

well no it isnt really. the quality of those particular programmes werent great and unless you're into buying programmes for every game i doubt many people would have bothered with it.
