Canvey Island FC

Bad news for all our frinds on the Island, Jeff King Manager, Chairman & Owner has decided enough is enough as only 350 turned up for their game against Woking, & has pulled the plug. He was reportedly putting in £9,000 a week (Can you believe that?) for a part time club. . . .

Good Luck CIFC, better to be a solvent club two leagues lower than spending £9,000 a week too much but in the Conference. Eric would do the same I think if we got 350 at our level.....

I read that King said he'd ease up his investment at the end of the season.

I'm not sure the club will go under, but they are gonna go the way Leigh have. Still, it's better to have a club a division or two below the conference than no club at all

Re: Canvey Island FC

Gotta be worth a few quid that lad though. Quality player, but yeah, very injury prone.
