Re: carling cup
im guessing the gate price is shared due to only playing on leg therefore it hope to draw a bigger side away from home, birmingham, wolves, west brom, leeds, Preston or any of the premiership sides who arent in europe would do very nicely
COME ON STALEY!!!!

Everton, Newcastle, City
Big grounds, decent support that would turn up to watch.

Re: carling cup
Dull City at the KC stadium: half decent crowd, nice surroundings and at this point in time Stanley could well beat them.......and I live nearby so won't have the M62 nightmare.

Burnley or Blackpool for a smaller team, Man City for a bigger team.
Then I want Liverpool in the third round please. At Anfield.

Re: carling cup
Got to be Goodison for me, spent my youth there.
Then, yeah, Liverpool at Anfield.

Re: carling cup
City away would be top; their ground is the mutts nutts.
It's like the Nou Camp across the road from a council estate ...priceless.

Re: carling cup
Wigan would be a good one, not too far and should take a good crowd

I certainly wouldn't complain about Wigan, but they have crowd as fickle as ours, ie only low numbers turn up for early stage Carling Cup matches. Would split my family though - four wiganers and me - would have to leave home. lmao

League maybe get upwards of 20,000 but when it comes to the Carling Cup, I remember going on the JJB last season in an early round and they had just over 5,000 on - there or there abouts
