Carling Cup Draw This Morning

The Carling Cup Draw takes place Today at 10am

Burnley/Leeds Home or Away would do nicely

Let's hope we get a Plum Tie!

If it's Burnley I would suggest you want them at home financially, the expenses would be less.

If it's Leeds your'e probably better off away, the police bill at home would be more than the gate receipts

Not bad at all, would have preferred to be at home but I suppose we've had that privilege for the last two years.

If we had drawn Burnley at home our maximum capacity would probably have been around 4800. Hopefully there will be more than that at Wolves and if there is we should make more money from it.

Looking at the draw Stanley only just missed the Dingles, it would have been great to knock the new Shankleys men out in the first round

I think this is not a bad draw at all, remember, Morecambe beat Wolves last year in the same competition. Perhaps a repeat on the cards?

Re: Carling Cup Draw This Morning

Wolves fan here. I come in peace!

Crowds tend not to be great for Carling Cup draws - we managed just over 11,000 against Morcambe last season. But their following was good and loud and, maintaining our usual high standards in the cup, they turned us over, beating us 3 -1 after extra time.

Look forward to welcoming you all to Molineux.

Not convinced about that Jeff. Most Championship clubs have to reduce the admission price for the 1st round. Stanley at home may have had the possibility of being on Sky ( they may still have an outside chance ), they would have been able to charge full price, and they would have got more from corporate sponsorship which I would guess doesn't go in the pot with gate receipts.

In order to get money from corporate sponsorship you have to market the product. With our past record of marketing Accrington Stanley I don't think we would have made much from that.
