Oh dear....lancsdave a closet dingle?
I'm quite sure that if it had have been us and not Morecambe who had drawn Burnley, then our verbal skills would now be fully extended in mocking - in good jest - our sad, but generous neighbours lying further east on the M65.

You sure? I thought the figure was normally about 30/40K and it may even be that the opposition (Newcastle) get a chunk of that. In addition, on that wednesday night I'm pretty certain that Sky will also be showing a European qualifier game involving Spurs, which should be interesting for me because I'll be in London and I don't want to have to kick some north London tosspots in the goolies in order to get the right channel on t'pub telly.

I think thats more on the right lines. I thought it was only about 10k.
The league cup is the poor relation of the domestic comps. The winners only get 100K

Re: Carling Cup -v- Newcastle!!
FA Cup: prize money (£75,000 for third-round win rising to £2m for final win); TV money (£160,000 to £275,000 per live match). Carling Cup: £100,000 per live televised match
taken from some newspaper

May be Newcastle will give there share of the gate money to stanley in a big hearted juesture
