Re: Cash bid for Conference striker

If it is Twiss that we've bid for, then that'll be another target we miss.

Re: Cash bid for Conference striker

after speaking to a Morecambe Director at the match last night no bid has been made by Accrington or anyone else for Michael Twiss. He confirmed Twissy had signed on until summer 2010 and that he was not for sale to anyone.
The Morecambe Visitor today quoted Sammy Mac as saying one or two enquiries had been made for David McNiven but he didnt say who made them.

Two for the price of one?

BBC Website:
Barnet manager Paul Fairclough has told strikers Giuliano Grazioli and Magno Vieira that they can leave on loan.

Let's get a defender, shall we?

why????? Magno Vieira was phenomenal for Carlisle in their promtiona year and we all know what Grazioli can do. Graz must be about 55 now but the other one is only a young lad isn't he?

Re: Cash bid for Conference striker

if the move was designed to unsettle the player so that he demands to leave then fair do's, but as they had stated previously that somebody had offered £250, 000 and then slapped a ridiculous £500, 000 it was never gonna work was it?

I'd put my house on it that it was David Brown - not that I think he should go, quite the opposite but I did hear that David thinks he won't still be here at the end of this season and after the way he was messed about until we were desperate for another striker after Mangy got himself banned who could blame him

Exactly, that was when he was playing in the Conference. He's only made eight starts for Barnet this season, and if he is not good enough for Barnet then surely he's not good enough for Stanley. Why are we chasing strikers ? We are the third highest scoring team in the league but we have the worst defence, surely we should be looking to tighten up the defence by signing a decent centre half.

Re: Cash bid for Conference striker

Bidding for Donaldson? That was a bit silly wasn't it.

I think Magno Vieira & Grazioli would be great additions, but that would mean Mangan & Brown out for sure.
For me, that would be a bit of good business as Mangan is pretty useless for us. Yes he's quick and fires up the team but 1) he doesn't score and 2) we've got Whalley who is faster and keeps a better level head than Mangan. I'd be sorry to see Browny go because he's a very professional player, in that even though he knows he's on his way out he's still giving his all and scoring for us.
Whether that be proving a point or putting himself in the shop window, I think he's a very good player and would be sorry to see him leave.
