celtic cross?

first post lost on thenew shiddy Accy Web but here goes again:

Fri 21st or sat 22nd October.?

Chorley or Clayton?

Bigger night out or normal ish night out?

Cart on or do one?

If anybody fancies watching Celtic Cross live then we should have anight out out of it. I am sure that we can enforce more than one rendition of Cart on.

I personally would rather CartOn to Chorley and have a real night out, this would be more rock'n'roll but a visit to Clayton to watch the Carters play would prob draw more numbers as you can come and go as you please.

Any folk fancy it then post yer response and I'll book a minibus accordingly.

Cart On mincers!

just bringing this back as a few people are already up for this, expressing a preference for the local gig. Anybody else?

Re: celtic cross?

Hey it would be really great if you guys would come down to our gigs.
We could probably sing more Stanley stuff at more local gigs as it probably would wind up the locals if we sang Cart On all night in Chorley. (What league are they in anyway?)
We`ve now got 3 songs for the Accy CD, "Cart ON", "Stanley`s Back" and "I luv the smell of Accy in the Morning" so we wont have to repeat the same song all night (just the same 3).
There has been talk of a pre match performance but I don`t want to do that until we have CDs ready to sell in the shop, so as soon as it`s ready we hope to do a launch gig. We still need to finish recording the other 2 songs (next session in about 6 hours) and Flip knows where I`m going to get the money to manufacture a couple thou CDs but I`m trying as hard as I can to get this out as soon as I can.
Please dont think that I just want to make some dosh, cos I`m a Stanley Fan and what I want most of all is everybody singing these anthems on match day and making some noise to spur the lads on. Its 2 Fs in quiet half of the time (especially those sat on their arses) I`ve put the lyrics up for Cart On @ http://www.celticcross.co.uk/news/stanley.htm and its played over the tannoy every home game I thought maybe everyone could have learnt the chorus by now. I know its not set to some familiar tune like most footy chants but thats what makes it special and pure Stanley. It`s no good expecting the lads on the pitch to give 100% unless they`re getting 100% from the terraces. Clayton enders give it a good go but you can pay an extra 2 quid to sit in silence.
The club is gonna make some money from the sale of this and I will personally request that it be put aside to invest in an F in Roof for the Clayotn end. (not that I dream that this will cover it in it`s entirity but every little helps) So for certain people winging that they wont be buying a copy stop being so F in Negative, maybe you dont like punk rock but this is for the good of the club and all who love her.
Anyway please do come down to our shows, I know some of you have been before, cos if you do we will play the Stanley songs wherever we are, and although the logistics of a matchday performance is terrifying I`m up for giving it a try. We dont need a stage just something very loud.

Re: celtic cross?

I hope that you can perform 'live' at Fraser Eagle. It would stir up the majority, and the Ultras could provide backing vocals.Neighbours might be bothered, but **** them.

Re: celtic cross?

Very strange thing Zero, but while some of us in the stand were trying to sing along to Cart On, it was remarked upon that we couldn't hear the ultras joining in.

Re: celtic cross?

maybe until the Ultras embrace the song fully, the main stand could lead the way. I think part of the problem is that on the terrace you can only the tannoy if it is quiet. No talking singing, farting or sneezing. So from that you only ever hear snippets of a song which isn't enough to learn a new song from and to sing it in tune.

Now, under a roof and able to hear the song fully, such as in the main stand, it would take off a lot quicker.

Come on Ossyclogger I'll lend you my megaphone?
