Wink Charity Football Match

Bamber Bridge Utd. FC are staging a charity football match on the evening of Tuesday 16TH December. Kick off 7-00pm
All proceeds will be for ex Accrington Stanley player, Stuart Howson.
Stuart suffered a double break of his right leg whilst playing in the Unibond 1st Division North League.
As Stuart is an associate PE teacher for a private school, teaching boys and girls with social problems, he will have no income for the duration of his incapacity.
Any one wanting to check out if Mr. Coleman and Mr. Bell can still practice their preachings , please come along as both have pledged to play in the match.
Numerous prizes, including signed Premiership shirts are to be raffled and the social club will be open.
Full details of players taking part and guest appearances will be announced nearer the time but any support would be appreciated.
Thanyou.

Sounds like a worthwhile cause,me and my mate grimps will be there weather permitting,if coley plays he might lose a bit of weight on the other hand should we bring a portable defibrilator lol.joking aside if it helps a player through hard times then it's got to be worthwhile, lets hope you get a good gate on the night.

Re: Charity Football Match

More news on this game and even more stanley connections

NEWS
Special match in aid of Stuart Howson
Date Posted : 4th November 2008 <<< THINK THATS DECEMBER
Brig defender Stuart Howson suffered a double broken leg at Wakefield on the 15th November playing for Brig in a Northern Premier League First Division North fixture. The pain on his face will last long in the memory.

Stuart, who is a trainee P.E. teacher at a local private school will only receive pay for two weeks of his time off work, that time is now up and Christmas fast appraching.

Therefore, we appeal to all true followers of the Bamber Bridge Football Club and other non-league clubs to come out on the 16th December and support this worthy cause.

A team of ex-Bamber Briadge players will take on a team of ex-Chorley players with kick-off at 7pm.

Bamber Bridge team will include: Steve Berryman, Steve Wilkes, Dave Leaver, Jez Baldwin, Ian Street, Nigel Greenwood, Paul Byron, Andy Whittaker, Neil Reynolds, Lee Ashcroft, Peter Smith, Ian Bryson, Steve Macauley, Neil Crowe and Neil Spencer.

Bamber Bridge: Tony Greenwood

Chorley team to include: Phil Priestley, Graham Barrow, Kenny Mayers, Lee Clitheroe, Karl Marginson, John Thomas, Darren Lyons, Joe Hinnigan, John Coleman, Jimmy Bell and possibly Sean Teale and Russell Payne.

Chorley Manager: Tony Hesketh

Would be pretty bad plannng if it did, pre-Christmas gates are bad enough without sticking one in voluntary.
