Re: Cheltenham Away Match Thread

I have always wanted him to be more of a presence in the box! Murph has been doing it to wonderful effect for ages, so how goodwould it be if we had 2 of 'em at it? A bit like watching Barcelona, eh?

Re: Cheltenham Away Match Thread

Back in our local celebrating an excellent result and performance from Stanley. First half was superb, second half was a bit like the Alamo at times but the defence and especially Betti pulled off several match winning blocks/saves. Whole team were great and played The Robins off the park for 45 minutes.

However, the most amazing thing today (and I write as someone who has written to CTFC to complain in the past) was that their stewards were transformed. My thanks to the one who (previously) looked like he'd swallowed a wasp, as he was a true gent after Mrs. Exile got on the end of one of Mr Dawber's warm up shots and Mr Bettenelli's saves. Also both Stanley's goalies showed themselves to be gents, especially Andrew Dawber. She's wearing the shirt now as we have supper (and some odds looks from some folk)!
Great result, great bunch of lads.

Re: Cheltenham Away Match Thread

If ever there was a game of two halves, that was it. Exile is absolutely correct (and when is he not??) - after a first half that we totally dominated, the second half proved just how gritty we can be when necessary. A true team performance that we can all be proud of.

Re: Cheltenham Away Match Thread

An excellent three points, two more than I expected at best. Now we need to kick on and start stringing results together to prove we are better than the position suggests.

Although I'd be happy with 22nd, given our resources, we've got the personnel to prove that we're better than every "football experts" expectations.

29 points on board now.....and for a change....I don't agree with Davo......another 24 will see us safe.

Here's hoping for three more against the Shakers next Saturday !!!

And that Bowerman is a real duck egg isn't he Davo !!!

I fail to see how Yates deemed the Joyce header a really sloppy goal, a powering run through the Cheltenham defence to meet the ball with a perfectly placed powerful header, the Bowerman goal wasn't bad either. perhaps Yates considers any goal scored against Cheltenham is a sloppy goal

Re: Cheltenham Away Match Thread

what I didn't realise we are unbeaten in six games, two wins and three draws one loss which isn't bad !!
Some of those draws could have been wins so our form is pretty good.
