Re: Chesterfield Match
For all the Dunbavin critics, he played out of his skin today and kept Stanley in the match in both halves. The double substitution played a big difference. The only thing that spoiled the whole match (apart from the numpties in the pink) was the fact that despite all the calls for fans to stay off the pitch, half the Clayton End decided they weren't having that. Fortunately, good sense prevailed and they did eventually leave the pitch for the players to come back on a take a well deserved pat on the back from the whole Stanley fan base.
Cannot for the life of me think why Spireite fans were upset with their management, but lets hope we can get them again last but one game of the season, we are making a habit out of messing their play-off prospects up.

Re: Chesterfield Match
It was a tough one but what a really good game, and what a win!
Johnny Flynn was MOM by a long, long way IMO.
The only area we were weak in was central midfield where Murphy was second to most balls and Procter was backing out of challenges. However, after the break Murphy was much more committed and played very well. Well done lad. And it later transpired that Proccy was carrying an injury; hope it isn't too serious.
What a combination from the subs for the first goal! Truly inspired.
Well done to Leam Richardson for making his first appearance of the season and giving such a solid performance after a horrific set of injuries.
Well done Ultras! Another superb display.
That was a committed and professional performance against a physical side and we got the win we deserved. Well done reds! (Err... blacks!)

Re: Chesterfield Match
A much better & more spirited display Today
Billy the Kid did it again he has been like a breath of fresh air all season, always with a smile on his face and having banter with the Crowd
I do hope he is back here next season as he offers something completely different to the front two of Grant & Symes, whilst also being a Blooming Good Player & finisher
Well Done Everyone Today

I agree that he was excellent, but Billy was the game changer, so his MOM was just about deserved IMO. The best natural out and out goalscorer in a Stanley shirt in a long while.

Re: Chesterfield Match
...let's not forget John Miles whose superb run through the Spireites defence contributed greatly to the first goal.
As for Bavs, have I not said all along what a talented and underrated keeper he is?

Re: Chesterfield Match
Being 5000 miles away Chimer I have to rely on the box or puter for info and it did say 90min on div2 report which is usually a bit behind BUT I would say the jinx is laid to rest!!!
7 more days and I'll be into the good beer.

Re: Chesterfield Match
I totally agree with redraine and harris.
Couldnt believe how good Bav was today - We got in the ground a good hour early and saw the keepers warming up. My Nephew was laughing cause Bav couldnt save anything. If it wasnt for him and also Phil Edwards then we could of been a good few down. Bav pulled off a good half dozen amazing saves.
I said on another post that my highlight was Symes goal against Rochdale but im now changing that to Bavs wonderfull performance.
If I was coleman i would rather have Billy in my team and Bobby Grant. Bobby is a great player but not every game and he frustrates me by not running for lose balls. When ever billy plays he is always eager.
I thought we would of missed Jimmy today as well.
Starting Turner instead of Miles was a smart move as well.
Enough said - Im banging the Kettle On !

Re: Chesterfield Match
today was awesome!! the players, the noise, everything!! New away kit looks really good! Every player played like we know they can! if they played like that than play-offs would be here right now!! bavs played brillant, back four really good, was pleased with murphy and flynn, really hope we keep hold of all the players, and bring billy back, as he is a game changer as today showed, really good lad!!!!lets hope we can continue that form onto the last away game of the season! 4 seasons in league two, who would of thought

Re: Chesterfield Match
it was awesome today the performance was akin to that pre january when the wheels fell off, thought Bavs was absoutely superb doing what he is good at...........stopping shots I just wish he could sort out the rest of his game, and Ilike to think that he knows the same........we'll see!
also best ultras show of flags ever but distinct lack of hi-vis!

Re: Chesterfield Match
Bavs has always beeen a great shot stopper, it's the other bits bits of his game like kickin'and .... no , I ain't goin' to criticise today cos he saved us on about 4 occasions today. Should have been MOM and I'm not his greatest fan. Edwards also had a great game today, in fact all defence played well. Flynn, in particular, dealt with Conlon well, when he came on. Billy Kee got the MOM for obvious reasons and why not? Love his attitude and the way he plays the game. Why he does not start is beyond me. It was good today, not quite as fluent as we were back in Oct/Nov/Dec but the effort and will and determination was back. Best of the day were Bavs, Lees, Edwards,Flynn, Richardson,Symes and , of course, Billyboy. Well done this season to all the players, see you in August
