Re: Chesterfield match thread
Agree on most of your comments smudgie ,although I thought the midfield retained there shape when didn't have the ball, and forced them to go sideways and backwards. In reality our keeper didn't make a save in the first half,so as a team we were pretty solid, indeed,if Richardson had squared the ball for a tap in,then it would have been a little different.
Most of there six attempts on goal came when we went three at the back and pushed Aldred up front!,
I can't really be too cortical,as I know at least three players were struggling and it would be easy to cry off against the top of the league.
Dean sweeping lets Atkinson do what he's good at,ie attacking the ball knowing there's cover, and Aldred confirmed to me what a good footballer he is,starting at left back, and impersonating Duncan ferguson at the end.
Dean was responsible for the under hit back pass, and as our lucks going, the rebound fell straight to there man.
Really do need a focal point for our forward line,as even in the last ten minutes,Mahoney weaves his magic, got crosses in,but no one took a chance of getting across the last man.
Enjoyable game despite the result

Re: Chesterfield match thread
Like smudged said I think people like the man with no knees and Joyce were absent again and added nothing to the game! But we have no squad so at the minute we are going to have to just cope with them.
Thought Dean Winnard had a great game and looks a lot more fitter! Another positive was Miller who didn't do too bad either, always moving about and passing the ball around . We had no attacking threat though in my eyes after Webber went off as we have no strikers! Naismith can't play upfront and I think it's unfair putting him up there as with his skill and pace hes clearly a good winger! Don't like Richardson either , in my eyes he's not good enough for league 2 at the minute and it's quite unfair he's given so much responsibility in the middle of the park ! Maybe a good sub?
Another MASSIVE positive was Mahoney , when he came on he just looked like he wasn't phased by the 7000 crowd and the fact we was playing top of the league and loosing! He just looked a touch of class taking on people , running at them and then having a shot on target! For 16 he's looking good!
A MASSIVE let down at the minute is our following ! I think the fans need to put a bit more effort into watching the team at the minute ! Our away followings are abysmal ! We all have bills to pay as do me and others who went yesterday but I think the club could maybe push on the away following a bit!
Beattie has to go in for another striker and more players in the loan window! If we don't we're going to not get out of this run!

Maybe Haggis and Beck can help out, Gus Wilson too in midfield or attacking fullback.

Think the result was bad,i got a puncture in chesterfield-£187,it cost us £36 to get on,and if things couldnt get any worse,we were in A & E until 4am sunday morning with someone suffering from bad de-hydration and vomitting !!!

A tale of woe indeed FA !, and I duly commiserate and consequently empathize with you following this dreadful series of events, Hope that the situation requiring A & E support has been made right !.

Re: Chesterfield match thread
Tough luck, F19, but your fortitude is to be applauded.
Let's hope it's a sign that the bad luck voodoo has finally departed from Stanley and, before eternally possessing the soul of Paul Cook, temporarily landed on your shoulders on its way to Chesterfield.
