Christie Park for sale

just been to the press conference.

we are moving to a new ground with 6,000 all seater facility which can be increased to 10,000 when we reach league div 1. It will have training pitches, 5 a side pitches, a hotel , fast food outlets plenty of parking and should be ready for the start of the 2009/10 season.

It's nice to be ambitious, but you've got to learn to walk before you can run!!! Division 1 ??? Let's see how you cut your teeth in this league eh!!!

as mentioned it will be funded from the sale of Christie Park.

Sammy McIlroy was at the meeting and he believes it easier to attract good players when you have good facilities.

How very kind of you, Morecambe Red, to sprint back from the meeting to post on here - we all appreciate your burning desire to keep us informed. Ever been to Darlington?

Apparently you've got to get planning permission first !!! (according to teletext) And we all know how accomodating the planning departments can be !!

Why do we care? All the best to Morecambe FC, but I couldn't care less what they get up to. I'm only interested in my club.

Re: Christie Park for sale

what I dont understand about moves of this kind is that if the builders will pay £xmillion to buy Christie Park and that will be enough for Morecambe to buy land and build a new ground on it - why don't the builders just buy the other plot of land and save some dosh?

Oh I don't know, at least Burton wouldn't have the best ground in the conference anymore. Seriously though, I agree with carpon, they have to make sure they can hack it in the league befoe they build what could become a white rabbit.

Errm, Elephant? No, I prefer rabbit, suits the scale better.

Macca, agree with you doesn't make sense, unless you want a posh house near a good chippy.

Are they building it anywhere near Morecambe?

Re: Christie Park for sale

..at least we provide visual proof of our proposal not a load of talk that can't be backed up with diagrams.

Remind me....didn't you claim to be re-locating?
