clean sheets under Coley

since Coley came to the club the emphasis has largely been on attack, consequently clean sheet runs are quite rare

However,

in the 04-05 season we managed four in a row Crawley (h), York (a), Woking (h) and Dagenham (a) - scoring 4, 1, 0 and 5.

at the end of 04-05 we drew away at Hereford and beat Burscough at home - scoring 0 and 4 and then at the beginning of the 05-06 Conf winning season we beat Canvey at home and Altrincham away both times scoring 1 goal

However, later that season we had the mad November where a fixture pile up and early exits from the cups presented us with six home games in a row. We beat Forest Green, Southport, Altrincham, Rams-arse United, Kidderminster and Altrincham again -scoring 2, 4, 1, 1, 2 and 2. So six games is Coley's record but two of those (Alty and Rams-arse) were cup games. So his League record at Stanley is four games on three separate occasions.

Re: clean sheets under Coley

since 1921 as a Football League club we have only kept four clean sheets in a row twice

in 1945-46 John Hacking's side played Stockport home and away followed by Southport away and home. They scored 3, 0, 0, and 1. However this was not a Football League season as it had been suspended due to the war. It was the 3rd Division North West, 1st Championship. It was the only time we ever won a Championship.

In 1957-58 Walter Galbraith's George Stewart inspired side played Workington at home, followed by Wrexham away, Gateshead at home and Dalington away, scoring 3, 1, 3, and 2. However the Wrexham tie was an FA Cup 2nd round match.

Therefore, as a Football League side, this run is a current Accrington Stanley record!

I don't know whether that's good or bad to be honest!

There have been a few, but not many, runs of three in our 46 year, 2 stint stay in the Football League. Four is a record.
