Just being realistic, they only just avoided relegation last season this year they are miles clear at the top, plus the manager has an interesting link up with hoddles academy, getting the best from free transfers and loan players is what coley is best at and what financially keeps us afloat, we need a manager who can do the same.
But like i say, we need not think about that just yet

Re: Coleman
if the worst does comes to the worst and Coley leaves does that mean that Jimmy leaves as well could it be his chance to step up to the fore and become a manager. I for one would love to see him as manager as opposed to a merry go round manager who doesn't give a stuff about our club

The offical statement... Club statement
Sunday 22nd Jan 2012
Stanley give permission for Coley to speak with Rochdale
Accrington Stanley have this afternoon received an official request from Rochdale Football Club to speak to our manager John Coleman about the vacant manager post at Spotland.
Following communications with Rochdale Football Club, and after discussing the matter with John Coleman, the decision has been taken to allow him to speak with Rochdale.
Accrington Stanley chief executive Robert Heys commented "We will always be absolutely fair to John and Jimmy who have given their all to our club. It must be stressed that this is a very early point of a process and we will provide supporters with any updates should this develop."
Both John Coleman and Jimmy Bell are under contract at Accrington Stanley until the summer of 2015, and both will take charge of first team training tomorrow morning as usual.

Re: Coleman
Job for life that he says he loves vs a 2/3 yr contract that doesnt work out ,and he's on that out of work manager band wagon,or back to teaching !!
Not many are in a job for life that they love,he is very fortunate !!

Even a job for life is not everybody's cup of tea though ( or should that be glass of milk )
There comes a point where you want to take chances and have a different challenge. It would be very difficult for Stanley to match any club in the football league and even several leagues below when it comes to available finances to build a team and pit your wits at a higher level.
Having said that I still have the feeling JC won't go but will use it as a wake up call to the club.

Re: Coleman
If he goes, and we all hope he doesn't, I agree that there should be something to stop him asset stripping the squad at least during this transfer window but I can't help wondering whether that's why Bryan Hughes hasn't been given a contract yet. He wouldn't be covered by any such agreement.

Re: Coleman
For the record, 1st opologies to the dale fans for accusation of full rumour mongering - seems it had a ring of truth to it, the fact remains coleman is free to talk to dale.
If he goes he goes - its his decision at the end of the day, he could of gone at any other point during his reign at stanley, i'd rather a manager was here cos he wanted to be here to take on challenges we as a small club face. If he feels dale is the right opportunity & ticks his boxes then he may well go for it - cant blame the guy & theres little anyone can do if minds made up. Theres many factors to stay as to go, think stanley has hit the cross roads anyway on many factors.
Thing is do we think with hearts or minds in regards to stanley.......im trying to balance the both!

Re: Coleman
If he hangs on, he could be applying for Dalglish's job with Liverpool or t'Rovers. I do hope he is getting the message that the fans want him to stay and I hope too that the directors get this message too.
