Re: Coley or Gally?

Typical Macca, a hard one to me 'both' cos they were successful for Stanley in their time periods

I agree to an extent about two different eras. Imagine how successful Coley would have been back then. As for whether Galbraith could have achieved the miracles Coley has in the present game....hmmmm

Re: Coley or Gally?

It is striking the similarities between the 2:

Both Coleman and Galbraith achieved Stanley's highest ever league positions with their particular incarnations of the club.

Both were undermined by foolish boardroom decisions, Galbraith with the "white elephant" stand and Coley...well we all know about the current regime.

Galbraith was often cricticised for the number of Scots in his line up akin to Coley and the Scouse effect.

And take this Obsever quote about Galbraith and tell me Coleys name wouldnt fit also:

"So spectacular had been the rise of Stanley under Galbraith that it was tempting to forget from what depths the manager had dragged the club, and how easily it could sink back to those levels."

I hope those words don't come back to haunt us
