Re: Conference table 12th April

Maybe Hereford will have secured their playoff place by the time we play them and rest a few players to avoid injuries/suspensions

Think postive, peeps; it ain't over until it's mathematically impossible.

There's still a damn good chance for those playoffs...

But they're playing a rejuvenated Gravesend & Northfleet on Thursday and so will be playing their 2nd game in three days against us, which can only be in our favour.

See, there's always hope

Re: Conference table 12th April

I'm glad the picture looks clearer now but sadly it ain't looking good.

Stanley will have to win all three games now for sure. Win Sat and I reckon a bumper crowd next Tuesday. Then the cup final at Hereford. Here's hoping Hereford have done it by them.

One thing...Morecambe....dead certs now I think, so too Carlisle.

Hope and pray. The Aldershot game is the one.

Re: Conference table 12th April

Nothing is ever certain. We at the home of the 'real' Pride of Lancashire are certainly NOT celebrating a play off place just yet. Remember we play Barnet on Saturday....so..........

Re: Conference table 12th April

I have seen barnet three times this season.the first time they impressed me and I thought league club.. the following two they where very poor. I guess it's what day you catch them on.

Weird 2 seasons ago a group of us in Stanley shirts where at your place, back of stand behind the goal cheering you on to beat Daggenham in the playoff semi final.. (Your drummer had blood on his hands he was drumming so hard that day) Now here I am hoping you dont even make the playoffs

Re: Conference table 12th April

Fortunately for Stanley the remaining matches include:

Woking v Hereford
Halifax v Woking
Barnet v Carlisle
Carlisle v Exeter
Halifax v Hereford and
Morecambe v Barnet

so some points will be dropped along the way. All Stanley's and Hereford's games and three of Woking's are against fellow promotion contenders. Hereford's task is far from easy and it's possible that our match there will be a case of 'winner takes all'. The loser of the Halifax v Hereford match will have a difficult task and a draw would not benefit either side much. Morecambe need to overcome Barnet at home to consolidate their chance of a place. Don't discount Stevenage either; if Stanley win all three it could leave the door open for the Borough to sneak into fifth place. Whatever happens, Stanley need to win all three matches, and that would seriously damage both Hereford's and Woking's chances.

Thumbs down Re: Conference table 12th April

Kipax that table cannot possibly be right, after all if Stanleys points total is 72 then Aldershot cannot get 75, Woking cannot get 73 and Hereford cannot get 78. I know it says possible points total, but that is the whole point, for most if not all those teams, those points totals are impossible, because you cannot win all matches when you are playing each other. Please leave such dross where it should be and wait until the final whistle on the final day when we will know either way whether we have made the play offs.
