Re: Coronovirus
Now that the National League has seen sense and finished until further notice Leagues 1 and 2 will undoubtedly follow reports coming out that 30 out of 47 league 1 and 2 clubs apparently want to follow suit to have a chance of survival. Even Andy Holt has said if made to play with no financial aid would cost £500,000 and the possibility of next season behind closed doors Stanley would probably fold so to me any Stanley should support Andy on this front.

Re: Coronovirus
With the government announcing yesterday that without a vaccine or medicine to control the illness unlikely to be available this year social distancing measures expected to last until next year at least, football needs to act now and make a collective decision on the next steps so clubs have at least something to plan on.

Re: Coronovirus
Troubled times at Oldham FC owner wants to furlouge players but doesn't want to make up the 20% meaning they get £2500 a month maximum some players claiming that's a 2 thirds drop in income. Owner says if they don't agree they come under normal employees rights and could be made redundant he doesn't want this to happen but wants to protect the club. Also some players have said they haven't had last month,s salary yet. As every day passes another club or clubs will face similar scenario,s.

as long as its something positive and not straw grasping like they did at the beginning of the outbreak. plan for the worst ever scenario and anything that happens better would give everyone a real lift. please, please no false hopes for fans and clubs.

Re: Coronovirus
Here's some interesting numbers from 2018. Ironic that Radford at Mansfield is leading the fight for a salary cap ..............
Mansfield’s players, with an average weekly salary of £1,490, earn four times as much as their local fans, whose average earnings are said to be £372.90.
Stags players are also said to have the third highest weekly pay in League Two.
Using the same data, promoted Luton Town have the highest wage gap, their salary average of £2,101 five times greater than their fans’ total of £446.40.
Lincoln, who made the play-offs, have the second biggest gap with players earning £1,712 – four times than their fans’ average of £384.40.
Promoted Wycombe Wanderers’ players are said to earn an average £1,137, twice that of their fans’ average of £470 while Notts County, like Stags, are said to be four times the supporters’ average with players’ figure of £1,428 against fans’ £364.10.
Interestingly, champions Accrington’s average wage is said to be only £635 – the lowest in the division – and twice that of their fans’ £378.80.

Assuming this is still the case, it explains why we often struggle to attract players.

even the difference in stanleys average wage v the fans average is a lot greater than it was when the maximum wage was inforce. lots of clubs did not pay the maximum anyway but even those who didn,t players wages were always slightly but only slightly above the towns average. in my old mans case pre war it was a couple of pound a week in the season but less in summer.

Regardless of anything, we will always attract players, just maybe not Messi

Re: Coronovirus
Very optimistic view is that.
We will only attract the players others reject because even with a salary cap we will always get out done financially.
How Coley manages to keep unearthing I don't know but signs this season some clearly did not work out at all.
