Luton part company with their manager,assistant manager first team coach and their goalkeeping coach although mutually agreed Luton citing financial cost cutting in the current climate as the primary reason, so it could be that not just players coming out of contract are vulnerable but management and coaching staff too.

Using the same data, promoted Luton Town have the highest wage gap, their salary average of £2,101 five times greater than their fans’ total of £446.40.
Lincoln, who made the play-offs, have the second biggest gap with players earning £1,712 – four times than their fans’ average of £384.40.
Promoted Wycombe Wanderers’ players are said to earn an average £1,137, twice that of their fans’ average of £470 while Notts County, like Stags, are said to be four times the supporters’ average with players’ figure of £1,428 against fans’ £364.10.
Interestingly, champions Accrington’s average wage is said to be only £635 – the lowest in the division – and twice that of their fans’ £378.80.

No idea where these football club wage figures have come from ??
If they are from L2 the year we went up really don't think they are correct. I'll look up up and post what's "sensible"

There are 1400 players in L1 and L2 who's contracts expire on June 30th 2020; seems at lot; 29 per club; but that's what we get told at every meeting

Have to agree with both statements and opinions expressed are surely being relayed to the EFL.Can,t see crowds at football for at least until 2021 behind closed doors you would have to implement all sorts of safety precautions showering after games seperatly have you seen Stanley,s dressing room, media facilities would have to be seperate, dugout and technical area safe distancing and as for the game it's a contact sport non starter for me.

agree also and not just because andy holt is saying it. if clubs get some financial rewards for playing behind closed doors then that is fine if 100 per cent safe to do so. if not its totally pointless. so will next season if it kicks off in a similar way. have heard it could be 12 months at least till we get back to normal making next season a big doubt as well. it ends up how much money the game actually has to continue to prop up clubs.

Well if certain clubs can afford to pay someone £350,000+ a week and then they don't play there is plenty of money floating around question is who has it clubs, players or agents not sure but for clubs like Accrington hibernation is the only sound financial way and it's not guaranteed to work for everyone, unfortunately a lot of players will become casualties but also will a lot of the general public who will lose livelihoods due to this awful pandemic, stay safe.

its not really about which clubs have money or not, there has always been arsenals and accringtons and manchester uniteds and morecambes. its more about what money the EFL and premier league has to help clubs throughout the game. probebly there is only a handful of clubs who are not in debt anyway so clubs helping out neighbours is not an option.

Maybe as we aren't in debt we should be helping out some struggling Premier League club?

EFL where are you and what are you doing clubs need decision making otherwise they will do what they choose, Colchester already decided that all out of contract players will be released even admitting that some of them would have been offered new deals before this covid-19. I can see other clubs following suit wether Stanley do I don't know but wouldn't be surprised.

French government say no football to be played untill at least August even behind closed doors, their leagues follow suit and cancel season forthwith, only a matter of time before same here.
