Re: Coronovirus

Footballers should be allowed to choose whether it is right for them to return to playing, Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Clayton has said.

Clayton's father Steve spent 51 days in intensive care with Covid-19.

"Ultimately I think it will end up with the players making the decision whether they feel right to do it or not."

Well said Adam.

Re: Coronovirus

So after today's latest EFL meeting the most that came out of it was no return to training before the 25th May if that's all they have come up with after 8 and a half weeks what hope is there.

Things are moving slowing as we only got information on Boris on Sunday and the Elite Athlete information yesterday afternoon.

The EFL and it's clubs cant do anything without this information

A quick question Mr.T regarding announced measures regarding training in the premiership about guidelines around safety social distancing, disenfected areas, no tackling etc:- how would Stanley go having no training ground often in the past sharing Hyndburn sports centre.

Correct sir;

That's going to be a massive challenge for us and several other small clubs.

Morecambe train at Lancaster Uni and there are 1400 overseas students on the campus who can't get home!!

Re: Coronovirus

Government giving football permission to restart in June when safe and obviously behind closed doors and a brief mention of sharing the money around, bit sceptical on that one but moving ahead a number of months and some kind of season was started and aired on some form of media what's your thoughts on numbers watching their own clubs would they mirror average gates or be more or less?

League 1 chairman starting to fall out publicly on twitter about wether or not to finish the season always going to happen without clear messages and guidance from authorities could turn nasty.

Andy Pilly of Fleetwood saying the remaining fixtures must be completed for the sake of the integrity of football. Integrity? From a man who employs Joey Barton - you couldn't make it up

How can there be any integrity left in the competition if clubs have already done their retained lists, teams altered beyond recognition, furloughed players having to be unfurloughed, clubs bankrupting themselves and risking players and their families health.

Can't see Accrington Stanley joining in nor quite a few others.

Re: Coronovirus

Take Andy Holts twitter posts with a pinch of salt if you wish or believe them, he,s posted this morning that since March 13th when he furloughed most off Stanley's players and staff the government has paid £151,022.65 and now the EFL says they want the season finished, he,s saying quotes for testing players to complete 9 or 10 games £140,000 that's integrity for you. Unless you're integrity pushes you forward to pay for it all has the EFL got any integrity.
