A terrible shock - he was a top bloke. Had a chat with him many a time in various pubs. RIP Coxy and condolences to his family.

I knew there was someone else in the car with me but couldn't remember who...

and yes he was really serious too... and if I remember right the lift home only came about cos we found him wandering about with no cash to get home... hmmm don't think that was the first time from some of the stories he mentioned

Re: Coxy ...

nah, he was on the coach (Stockport) but wanted to get home quicker. He didn't though, as he ended up stopping in the Oaklea/Crown with us until way after the coach landed!

Re: Coxy ...

Taken off the fishy site, In memory
Wednesday 1st Sep 2010

Antony Cox
All at Accrington Stanley were deeply saddened to hear of the death of 33 year old lifelong fan Antony Cox.

Coxy was well known to all involved with Stanley including the players and management at the club, and has supported his team home and away for many years, through our non-league days and into the Football League.

An area of the Sophia Khan Terrace has been set aside for tributes to be placed in memory of Coxy ahead of our match against Wycombe at the weekend, and our thoughts are with all of his family and friends at this sad time.

Re: Coxy ...

Still coming to terms with this.

1 of the "original" lads that used to travel on minibuses all over the place when I started around 1995.

Still cant believe I was drinking with him in Oxford on Saturday then a day later he's gone.

RIP mate.
