craney bid?

just heard the 107 the bee newsreader say that Coley has not ruled out a bid for Ian Craney!

I didn't hear the interview though as the phone started. Did anybody catch what was said?

Re: craney bid?

Sounds very far fetched to me. I'd prefer it if Coley signed some defenders.

Re: craney bid?

One of the few players that have impressed me this pre season is the defender Roberts.. Seemed to get everyhting in the air and quite commanding.. also handy up front for corners.. I would be surprised if he wasn't in the starting lineup on saturday

Seeing as we only have two recognised central defenders, so would I.

We've also got Phil Edwards. I always thought he played best at centre half.
But I would start Rocky & Roberts.

But he isn't a central defender is he? He might occasionally play there, but that isn't his true position.

The same with Branch. Some people have said that he could play in the centre of dfence, but that's not his position. He's an attacking left-sided player, who can play in various positions if needed.

I was talking about central defenders who are playing in their specialist position.

Re: craney bid?

As mentioned in burscough thread.. phil was playing left back last night (or seemed to be) and stood out...hard worker.. gets to everything.. steady as a rock.. I think our defence should be OK this seaosn.. some good signs..
