Re: Craney to Morcambe????
If you remember the first season that we had Craney he couldn't even get in the starting line-up, but the following season he was a revelation!
If he stays with us for next season I sincerely hope that he recaptures his form. He owes us a good season and if he lives up to his true potential, he'll be a hero with us once again.

Re: Craney to Morcambe????
Stanley are short on 'superstars' but Craney is one of only two that other teams in the League covet, he and Mullin (snr) are well respected players with rival clubs and fans.
.... but as others have said he owes us this year, and if is played right and gets his head down then we will do far better than we have done the last two years.

nah, you can keep Laurel and Hardy!
Jimmy B is the sort of player who does really well for his club because thats where his heart is, Jesus was the bit of class alongside him and he didn't fare very well when he moved on. Twiss? I'll let others do the calling on that long haired, bone idol gypo half breed with a good touch

Jesus didn't fare very well when he left us but Jimbo had another very good season, even at the higher level.

Re: Craney to Morcambe????
thats the point I am making Shrimper. Jimbo is a part of the furniture at Morecambe and because of that he would possibly struggle to replicate his form anywhere else - not on a skill or talent level but the extra 10% when it matters etc. We had a similar player in Jonathan Smith (albeit at a lower level). He wasn't short on the passion and it made up for many of his shortcomings, but when he moved on he wasn't the same player.

Re: Craney to Morcambe????
Sorry - I thought you were meaning that Jim didn't play well when Jesus left. Bentley's just a good player. He was good at Telford and he has been from the first day he started with us. I think he'd be a good player at any team and would become 'part of the furniture' anywhere. He is a dedicated professional wherever he's at. He has more to his game than just passion.

Re: Craney to Morcambe????
I think its a win-win situation. Although Id be sad to see Ian go, if the price was too good to resist then Id cash in. But also, if he stays then that would also be excellent and hopefully well seee many more of his exocets a la Morecambe and Rotherham!!!
