Re: 'd-day'..a one- day only thread !
I've only followed Stanley for a few seasons. (My wife, who grew up in Accrington, used to go with her family when she was a girl.) But in that short time I've come to love the club - how can you not love a club with such spirit and humour and such a great set of fans? Now, we're season ticket holders and we applied for one of those shares last week.
I barely slept last night and I'm experiencing a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach. I can't tell you how angry and worried I am. I will be absolutely gutted if 'the club that wouldn't die' actually does.
I'm supposed to be working but I'm watching this thread with close interest.

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
Bump
Damned lies from the lot of them. Not impressed one little bit, keep the humble pie in the fridge Pete, after todays announcements from London, looks like Ilyas and Peter Marsden are our only knights in shining armour.

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
I wouldnt say thanks to any of em for the whole situation, no people who have put the effort in throughout the fund-raisin, and didnt even get a thanks off DON, deserve to be messed about like this. And i dont even believe that he says it was paid yesterday was true, who knows what to believe any more...

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
Hello from "Choirboy". Felt the need to register in order to comment on the plight of our beloved STANLEY. A few questions;
1 Does the club hold AGMs?
2 Do the lesser shareholders ever get a say in what goes on?
3 Do the accounts get audited and presented annually?
4 Do the accounts get submitted to the audit commision?
5 How long have these debts been building up?
6 How has the club management/board allowed this to happen?
Finally a question to Eric Whalley, Dave O'Neill the board and the shareholders;
Q Will there now be full transparency and honesty in saving our club?

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
answer to 5, the debt that may yet close stanley down is from 2006.

Re: 'd-day'..a one- day only thread !
I just wonder if John Coleman and 'The Lads' feel a bit better now they know that the opportunity to thrash Grimsby Town on Friday evening has been assured for them ??....
AND that their livelihoods are 'safe' for the time being!!...
Just didn't want them to think that amidst this whole HOO-HAH that they are being forgotten !!....NOT ONE BIT LADS !!.
'ON STANLEY!!...ON!!!.. TO EVEN GREATER THINGS'

Re: 'd-day'..a one- day only thread !
Bear with me, I've only had 5 minutes to try and get what's happened today. I can't make any sense of it.
Did O'Neill's reps turn up with 96k? 212K missing? Why does it say on the plackards that we're 90k short? I don't get it.
