apparently we weren't quite there yet because somebody had offered us £25k but then let us down but the money should be sorted in time for a bank transfer tomorrow.

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
I would like to congratulate Mr. O’Neil, Mr. Hays and the board for the successful conclusion to this situation. You give your word and kept it. Thank you.
I would ask Mr. O’Neil to be clear and concise about the future of fundraising at Stanley and how best we can work with the club to avoid such dark and dismal events occurring again.

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
dont start the party too soon
in LT it says the following
While the board members all the right noises and insist the bill will be met-albeit with differing levels of confidence-there is a nagging fear that saturdays success at spotland could go down in thr record books as the last game for stanley
another report in LT with walkers pic says
The payment deadline is wednesday and MrO"Neil said the club now had the funds in place
and remember on a scale of one to ten we are at a nine
the saying dont count you chickens till the eggs have hatched comes to mind
Thought my faith reminds strong that ASFC will be safe

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
I do so hope that O'Neil et all havent 'jumped the gun' on this one...............I am slighlty concerned that such a huge anouncement has not made the front page of the official website..........why not?
O'Neil's track record re the press hasnt exactly been of the truthful variety, so Im afraid I shall believe it when it happens.
I have, however got a rather large piece of 'humble pie' sat in the fridge ready to be eaten...................something I would relish.

Pete, there’s a few of us that have claim to a piece of that pie of yours; don’t be greedy and try and eat it alone….

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
I won't be eating any humble pie whatsoever I'm afraid.
Whether the bill is paid or not isn't quite irrelevant, but I would like to know at what cost?
Where has the additional money (£192,000 roughly) come from?
What levels of interest are payable?
To whom are the debts payable and have we got a black and white agreement that we have a timescale in which to repay?
How long is the club going to be in hoc for?
When does Mr Whalley get his £150k and be able to transfer ownership of the club to The Don?
We may have seen the wolf banished from the door, but has he just gone for reinforcements?
There was a post a few days ago from "sherry" that went largely unnoticed, however, it has got an element to it that rings true. Many of you will have put the rose-tinteds back on for a short while but that fact remains that this campaign has been run like a dogs-dick. So many failings, so many lies and untruths. What is left of the club as far as the community is concerned? How long will it take us to rebuild our shattered public image? Will the fans - let alone the wider 'floating' public evcer trust us again?
Only time will tell. I dont really want to come across as the voice of doom at what could be a positive time for us, but I personally dont think that this everything is as rosy as we might be led to believe.
If the £192k has been borrowed then you can lump that onto the £150k that we owe Whalley. So we owe £342k at this moment in time and that is before you add the £100k or so that we keep saying is just month to month stuff, and that is before you add on any current outstanding debts to the Inland Revenue.
Mr O'Neil will no doubt clarify things next week at the planned public forum on the 6th November.

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
Good point Macca.
After all that has gone on I believe it is the clubs duty to say EXACTLY how much we owe, and to who!!!

Re: taxman paid tuesday 27th October
Well said Macca - I too think it's a bit premature to be celebrating. I really do want to believe that we're ok but nothing i've read or heard from the club so far has convinced me.
