Re: Dagenham
In the recent question-and-answers session, I suggested that we might do what other clubs do by producing an A4 size poster for each forthcoming home match which supporters can print off and display in their workplace, pub etc. Rob indicated that the club were going to adopt this idea, so come on, Rob, let's have some action!
I also agree with Steven that it might be worthwhile trying out a little advertising in surrounding townships.

Oh Wynonie. I have been reading posts of Stanley on these pages for quite a while and I was actually going to ask whether or not it was a viable proposition that Stanley got back into the league proper. Being a Stanley fan from way back when they were chucked out and at the time cried my young eyes out when they were. It started because they(as I am sure you all know) with the amalgamation of third north with third south. That put a terrible strain on Stanley's finances because of travel. Not to mention that most of Accy folk went to see Rovers or Burnley even in those days. I can see that there are a lot of Stanley fans about but with gates like you mention, the question I was going to pose seems pointless. I really am at a loss as to what to say other than I wish Stanley and all the fans all the very best for whatever the future brings. (I really wish I was a multi-millionaire and was able to help Stanley reach the past glories. But that's not to be.)
Just keep plugging away at trying to get the fans and you never know. One day it might happen!!!

Re: Dagenham
Terry, although I'm notorious for whinging about Stanley's gates, I still think the potential is there to achieve football league status. I can see Stanley in the near future attaining the level of Boston United or Bury, with attendances of around 2,500.
Obviously, this will take a concerted effort by all of us to increase support and to spread the word amongst kids - the supporters of the future. And hopefully, we can pick up more Blackburn and Burnley fans on their "days off". But I reckon we can do it!

Re: Dagenham
it hasn't been forgotten, we're working on an automatically generated file that uses the info from the database to produce a poster for each game that can be downloaded and printed off...

Re: Dagenham
Interesting thoughts and comments relating to our current gate attendance!
Do people not feel, as I do, that gate attendance is in general a lagging indicator of performance?

Re: Dagenham
Yes, like every football club, the performance is reflected in the gate. However, I still think that a full-time Conference club in a reasonable, upper-table position should be able to draw 1,500 home fans. It would be interesting to see how a sustained run of good results would affect our attendances...hopefully we will find out soon!

Re: Dagenham
Look at the history of Stanley has it ever had great gates? has it ever been in the top divisions, I dont mean div3north, why do Burnley get an average 15,000 or Rovers about the same? the main reason being Premier or div1, will kids in school support Stanley do they know about them? is it constanly on tv or headline news in the local papers? We have to accept that we are at the moment second class citizens to the larger clubs we have to make up 20yrs of mediocrity, having a base support of 1500 is great but no1 priority has to be a league club again then the increase will come.
