Daggers away coach cancelled
Due to insufficient numbers the coach to Dag & Red has been CANCELLED.
18 people booked on for a Saturday away game is pathetic... sometimes I wonder If people actually want this club to progress because that ain't the kind of support I envisage for a playoff chasing, over-achieving football team.
My reaction might be a tad off the hook, just pushes that button!

Re: Daggers away coach cancelled
I'm sure most if not all would love to be at every game - home & away - unfortunately for a lot of folk, including myself, finances dictate whether this can be.
Having a go & accusing people of not being interested won't help matters!

Re: Daggers away coach cancelled
I dont mean to offend anyone, and im not questioning anyones passion/support for ASFC, Like I said my reaction might be over the top, it just grinds me, I'm the one who has to go up to the coach company and tell em its cancelled, in the last two weeks i've/we have put them out of £2,500 worth of jobs. I hate letting people down, thats just me!

Re: Daggers away coach cancelled
We should be able to at least fill 1 coach for an away game following Stanley! Its the same old people every week that make up the numbers and most trips like ash will tell you its not even full! Maybe for the close ones like Rochdale, Bury and then the fancy dress at Crewe! But what about the important games like Daggers away this saturday!
We are a football league club and cant even take 1 , yes 1!!! fan coach on an away trip. Theres no other football coaches going, just this one!!!
I thought we`d be able to get at least 50 people on a coach to travel to an away game!! Every other club easily manage to do that or at least take even more!!
We need to back the team!!! When ive been on the bus ive seen no new faces at all!
Future doesnt look bright at all on away support . It dwindles when we are in our best ever league position. How does that even make sense?????
Anyways. Well done to Ash aswell for trying , as you put some hard work in asking everybody and anybody to fill this coach!! Keep going chap

Are you offering to pay for those of us who cant afford to travel away?
No I didnt think so
Or how about those of us who have to work?
Guess not
Or how about those of us who have family commitments?
That will be another no then
Sorry mate, but your comments are not exactly helpful in getting more peeps to travel.
To be brutaly honest, although I fall into more than one of the above catagories, I would personaly prefer to travel to away matches under my own steam, I'm afraid that my days of travelling with a bunch of people whos idea of a good day out is to spend as much time necking as much beer as they can and then going to a footie game are well and truly over ...............lol (I have enough difficulty walking as it is!!)

Ukcowboy, that's not the idea at all though!! Its not all about drinking as much beer as you can! The coach is nothing like that! And if people see that on here then that would probably put the more older generation off!!!!!
Obviously there's a few beverages going to be consumed on the coach but there's no trouble, no drunken yobs or behaviour! Just to make that clear for everyone . Also the coach is very well run, on time from the ground and to the game and straight back after, good and safe coaches and also many service stops when needed.
I can understand what you mean Ukcowboy. But against Burton we must of had about 900 home fans, even more actually. So you have a think to yourself like i did today and there must be at least 20/30 in that crowd that should go to away games and support the lads aswell as the ultras and regulars on the coach that go every away game. It just makes sense....
Are away following was better in the conference then playing in a higher league, better and bigger grounds, bigger attendances , better football and Stanley are flying at the moment!

Re: Daggers away coach cancelled
Take nothing away from Ash & Timmins for them taking on the task of organsing & filling a Coach it is a thankless task.
It is appreciated I am sure by the Club & fans who travel by that means
I have travelled on the Coach several times over the past few seasons and it is always well organised and prompt in getting away on time to & from the game.
People's disposable income is probably the real issue, it certainly is for me I would have liked to attended more away games but I can neither afford nor justify the expense of the travel, match entrance & the extras that go with it.

Re: Daggers away coach cancelled
Nobody should take the post as a dig, there are loads of reasons that individuals cannot go to games. We all know that.
But it is just a shame that out of 1000 die hards we get 18 who want to travel & to be frank, 15 of those stand with the Ultras..... We all have reasons, its just still very disappointing & slightly "shameful" if I am honest....
I understand the reasons by the way
