Re: Darran Kempson signed for Grimsby Town
wonder if the fact, players don't really know who will be in charge has any bearing on players leaving?

Re: Darran Kempson signed for Grimsby Town
Good luck, Darran. Thanks for the memories!
But I'm not surprised that he's moved to a club like Grimsby. While he made a good pairing with Phil Edwards, the limitations to his game were as apparent as they were with Michael Welch. Phil Edwards and Dean Winnard both look comfortable with the physical nature of the game at League 2 level, but also have the technical skills to play at a higher level.

Re: Darran Kempson signed for Grimsby Town
Must be summat about that east coast that's attracting our players - can understand Bobby it's a much higher league but Grimsby, seriously???
Then again, if I could have picked which of the two, Winnard or Kempson to stay it would be Winnard every time & totally agree with what Whalley Red has posted.

Re: Darran Kempson signed for Grimsby Town
deano and kempo are totally different players although it would have been interesting to see kempo play left back for 50 odd games!!
Deano has been brought up playing football from the back so this season was a culture shock!!!!
Even at left back he headed the ball more times this season than the previous nine.
At 6-1(deano) Acci may miss the ariel power kempo gave them but hopefully will be compensated with pace and reading of the game ( edwards is the master of this)
Be interesting but i feel another c b is a must even just to provide competition and experience

Re: Darran Kempson signed for Grimsby Town
What are your thoughts on this guys? I see he was a regular in your team and has played for various other league clubs. From a Grimsby point of view it seems to me a very good signing. Just proves there is no loyalty in the game anymore (providing we offered him more wages)
If i were him i wouldn't have moved. I'd love to play infront of a group of fans like the Stanley Ultras, it'd be amazing.

The Stanley fans put a warm feeling in the players guts, but not bread, unfortunately.
