Dennis Cook

Sad to learn of the death of Dennis Cook.

I can't claim to have been a personal friend of Dennis but I do remember him as a thoroughly nice bloke.

Unlike some of who went before and who followed him in the role Dennis always seemed to have time to chat and share a drink with the fan's. Not that there were very many of us in his day.

There are several ex-managers of Stanley who's passing I will not mourn.

Dennis I certainly do.

My heartfelt condolences to Buzzer and Family.

Re: Dennis Cook

Well put sir

Wow where to begin; part of the board that appointed Dennis and sad to say was there went he departed

However as the true gent he remained; he never let that sad day stop him supporting our club.

He may have watched other teams over the years, but i know Dennis and his wonderful family are true ASFC LEGENDS!!

Re: Dennis Cook

Lovely man gave me my first taste of first team football at Stanley and I went to play for Padiham under him later.

Thank you for choosing me to play for Stanley at such a young age.

Condolences to all his family.

Re: Dennis Cook

I've only got very vague memories of Dennis but I do remember him taking some coaching sessions when I was around 8 years old. Nice chap and fondly remembered by those who knew him better than me.

Condolences to the family Buzzer.

Re: Dennis Cook

I first met Dennis Cook some 30+ years ago when he coached my sons at the Lancashire Football Association Junior coaching sessions down at Wilsons. Dennis’s optimism and appreciation of the moment shone through way back then. Over the years as I got to know Dennis better his empathy with and interest in all sports and sportsmen became crystal clear.
RIP Dennis Cook a decent, modest, courteous and honourable man, a ‘gentleman’ in the truest meaning of the word.
