Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
You cant blame him to be honest! I honestly think he will go. If so we need some good money for him which i think a club like derby could give! Its up to the board to get the best price!

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
well i can blame him, obviously waiting fer a better offer, given the fact "Stanley" is the only club he's had sucess at, probably cos coleys given him the confidence, he's well aware he can go fer sod all at the end of season, ya can ask clubs for certain clauses to be put in contracts, as far as i'm aware, don't seem like he's done that?

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
Coley has given him the confidence, a good run in the team, very good morale around the club aswell, what would be good is if he does go to be loaned back till the end of the season so that we can still play really well until end of the season than look for another striker in august!

Totaly agree cashy,no one wants to stand in any players way and Ambitions they have !!But Coley showed alot of faith and brought symes back from the football wilderness.may be its time for the club to put a value on his services to see who's really interested

Agree, much as i would like Symes to stay, to me the position he has put the club in, i think stanley should bang a 500K fee on him, which is NOT silly money fer a club from a higher division to pay fer a striker. then see what develops.

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
I think anybody who has had Symes watched and like what the have seen will already have their valuation in mind, Whether that meets what the Club have in mind if they were put in that position who know's?
But there has to be a sensible line which I am sure both Club & Player will follow knowing that he can walk away at the end of the season for nothing
We are lucky in one sense that we perhaps do not need to sell and I would like to think the Player is probably is more settled than he has been for a while and that may just be the thing that makes him sign the New Contract

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
I'm quietly confident that he will stay,Alas i may be wrong but it's always wise in business to keep options open and to get the best deal for yourself rather than jumping in and signing away to something straight away.
Slow and steady wins the race

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
one way to shaw symes what will happen if he gose to a big club is put him in the res next time they play ..... if he dose not get any goals from the start he will be back in a role that he dose not like on the beach or in the 2nd team .

Re: Derby set sights on Symes :(
I hope the club has learned its lesson with regards to wages and offered Symes and Grant sensible deals. Though I'm confident that will be the case with Ilyas at the helm. It would be nice if Symes showed a little more urgency to sign with us, after all he would be warming a bench at somewhere like Macclesfield this weekend were it not for John Coleman rescuing his career. I'm not casting any blame on him for looking upwards while the 'big boys' have a sniff, I'd just like him to remember which side his bread's buttered.
