I still await Caretaker's promised 'transparency' regarding the D o'N's preferred method of offering salvation to Accrington Stanley!!...

Perhaps he's somewhat diffident at the moment....any sign of this revelation yet Caretaker ??...we're all waiting!!....and the DON did say..did he not?

"I assure you that I will not let Accrington Stanley fold again.".

Re: Direct action

I know you all will be waiting with baited breath to hear why am optimistic that Mr. David Oneil will pull it off. I now intend to give a statement regarding my reasons.
First and foremost is his own statement that he will not let Stanley fold.
Secondly even though some of you think that it is bad policy to be in debt, in the real world business is run on managed debt(anyone got a mortgage) . The Mancs and Liverpool owe Millions. The crucial debt at the moment is £308,000, about the same price as a detached house in Whalley. DON ownes houses,he lets some players stay in them for nothing, If he sells one of his houses, the debts gone. Dont look too far ahead, next season will pay the next crucial tax bill. Bobby Grant is worth a Million(imho) so lets all chill out,get behind the team and the manager, and chairman. If it does turn pearshape you can all say I TOLD YOU SO, meanwhile I will continue to remain possitive and await your howls of derision

Not very convincing, Caretaker, though I sincerely hope your optimism is justified. I know plenty of people who own houses, but all are bought on a mortgage, so I wouldn't bank on that. Anyway, how long do you think it takes to sell a house these days?

Re: Direct action

Mortgages are given on the premise that the borrower has the capacity to pay the sum borrowed within the required timescale...fail to satisfy those conditions and it's repo time....

A.S.F.C. has been given an 8 week deadline to pay a debt, which in the eyes of many and in my opinion....is non negotiable... no deals or comprimises... I may be wrong...Maybe if the club pay the majority of the debt (and by that I mean at least 75/85 %+) H.M.R.C may give the club a little more time....

I hope the club aren't gambling on this being the case....and more to the point.... the nearer the deadline looms, as fans we're all still in the dark and hoping that we can meet or satisfy the terms of the deadline...

I'd re-itterate the views of a few that I spoke to at Yesterday's game against Cheltenham.... The people I spoke to are of the opinion that the club MUST have plans in place in order to satisfy the conditions of the impending deadline........maybe the views I heard were in hope or be it by faith....

At this point, I'd put myself into the faith and hope category, especially after turning away a man with the necessary capital to solve the immediate problem.

It's a pity the Club can't share the solution to the impending problem (IF they have it) with people who matter.. i.e the fans .....It would certainly put a lot of minds at some sort of comparitive rest.....maybe the club will share this information nearer to the time....once the matter is hopefully resolved...to the satisfaction of all concerned....

Either way....D- day looms large......28th October.

Like many I hope that we can look forward after that date and onwards and upwards......

Only time will tell.........

Even more borrowing to add to the current debts? Barmy, if that's the plan after turning away megabucks.

Are you trying to say we are going to borrow money on the strength of possible future earnings to pay one debt but taking on another debt? You cannot compare Stanley with Liverpool or Man Utd.

Re: Direct action

I was asked to give my reasons why I was optimistic that the DON would get us out of the mess left behind by Whalley. I mentioned some of his options, how he does it is up to him. I think he will pull it off, and am confident I will use all my season tickets.

Some of his options? All I think you mentioned was to sell one of "his" houses! When? Only 2 weeks to go.
Am I dreaming all this nonsense?

Red....this is more than dreaming..it is now a nightmare !...made worse by having no one to awaken us from it!!...

I leave the Fiscal discussions to those who so obviously are more skilled and knowledgeable in this area....all I can do is keep on repeating my pleas for
better Management...more obvious Control being demonstrated in relation to the current emergency..(Which some people fail to recognise as being the brink of disaster I feel!!)...and some words which will offer real assurance to those like myself who are losing patience with, and faith in those who are daily bringing our Club, not as a business..but a real and once vibrant entity to it's knees! ...

I shudder to think just what I will read and hear next!!...Am I the only one who thinks that the situation almost at the point of no return ?....

If I sound gloomy this evening...it's because I am !!

Re: Direct action

Message to the board, if it's not already too late - we're in the last chance saloon now.

I only hope the mysterious "local businessman" is Ilyas, with a bail out for the taxman with conditions attached, otherwise it appears we're done for.
Ilyas was online on here yesterday.
