Looks like Dennis Wise will be playing on the hallowed grass of the Fraser Eagle Stadium next season......
Deputy Chairman Mark Devlin spoke to the press on Friday and gave his expanded views on the forthcoming appointment of Dennis Wise as the club's new Player-Manager.
Devlin spoke about the future for the club, as well as what he believes Wise and Poyet will bring to Swindon Town.
"Dennis is still keen to play and will take up a Player-Manager role. I have seen Dennis play on a few occasions over the last year and I'm sure he can do a good job on the pitch too.
"Gus will also bring his own style to the club and I am excited about the whole thing. I am excited about their plans for pre-season and beyond.
"We have now parted company with both Iffy and Alan. I would like to place on record my thanks for all their hard work. We will be speaking with Dennis in the early part of next week.
"One of the questions we put to Dennis on Tuesday when we met with him was why would he want to come down to League Two? The answers we got were both refreshing and exciting. He is very aware of the challenge we have ahead of us and has a tremendous amount of pride and ambition and he wants to do well.
"Dennis has been to the stadium and had a look at the training facilities, both current and the potential we have. It is fair to say that they were very impressed with the Wanborough facilities and Dennis was very complimentary about The County Ground.
"The appointment of Dennis is an indication of our ambition and he is a winner. He has great contacts, passion and a desire which I hope will run through the club," said Devlin.
