Re: disgusted
Give you that Stanleymad, much easier for me to be all logical when I'm 250 miles away and haven't spent £13 to stand and watch tut three home league games running .

Re: disgusted
think I've faired better being a southern based supporter this season - can't help but feel for you lads 'nlasses that have actually had to watch 6 home defeats. I can understand the frustration but lets not resort to harmful in-fighting. Certainly not all the squad are capable of forming a promotion side but I guess you can't drop them unless we happen to have a better alternative and on a 1500ish supporter base we just can't yet afford it. Perhaps Coley can't practically do more than gee a better perfomance with words. Any of the reserves worth a run ? What's happening with Phil Edwards ? Apart from a keeper and defender, can Coley realistically bench an attack threesome that play a different style for the final half hour to our starting threesome ?
As for changing the mananger - even the 'special one' can only jiggle what marbles we've got. Thanks John for sticking with a frustrating task. As for Macca's report of Branch's spat at our N.I. international - needs to be jumped on if not used as a term of endearment - unrest amolng the players can't be tolerated unless we want Conference soccer next term. Thought the Burnley pensioner was brought in for experienced stability - then that other Burnley bloke, Bob Lord, didn't exact help back in '62 ! - sorry - touch of the sours.

It's NINE, counting the cup games, actually. 6 of which we failed to score in, and three we lost after being in the lead. But it's not the defeats themselves, it's the manner of them, and the fact they're so similar.
The call for Coley's head was ludicrous last year, and remains so this season. However John does seem to be in a rut at home, and shows few signs of getting out of it, away from home we've got promotion form.
The thing that is really getting to me, is that while John is sorting it out, attendance is plumetting, and understandably. The club has stopped announcing away support, probably through embarassment, but I reckon there was less than 1,000 of USthere on Wednesday. All the good work is being undone.

Re: disgusted
Just found this, which puts Coley's achievements into perspective -
£1million For Mid-Table
Brentford's board have publically backed under-fire boss Terry Butcher, releasing an interesting statistic in the process.
When he arrived at the club, Butcher told the board that on the given playing budget they would only get a mid-table finish. In his statement, Chairman Greg Dyke said: "At that time they told us that with a £1 million pound playing budget they could get us to mid table but that we'd need some luck to get into the play offs."
In the last accounts the Bulls spent just over £750,000 on wages in total including all office and coaching staff, which would roughly equate to a £600,000 playing budget. If Butcher was in charge at FES, we would probably be staring relegation in the face!

Yes, you're right, Oggy, and sometimes perhaps we overlook the miracles that Coley must have to perform on a daily basis, working, as he does, with a pitifully small playing budget. I'll still be hopping mad if he plays Williams and Branch this afternoon, though!

I totally agree Wynonie, but in order to play the successful away system, we need 3 central defenders. If Leam plays on the left and Edwards on the right, we need Webb, Roberts and Williams in the middle. There's a distinct lack of options at the back when we play that system.

Coley's not tried Boco there yet, actually, Paul Burns made a good stab at it, so you never know.

If you are 100% happy with some of the Sh1te that we have been playing at home then you are soon to be in a minority!! People will not come through the turnstiles week after week and pay which to them could be alot of money to watch uninspired lacklustre performances. Sure coleman and co did well to get us where we are But he's lost the plot! The performances show that and likewise the attendances!

Re: disgusted
This reminds me of my first marriage. We loved each other so we became an item.We had one daughter ,then 2 years later a second was produced.Things were going along 'spiffingly'.But then I changed jobs and that placed extra demands on my time.We started getting into a rhythum of familiarity (sp) and as a result we started to drift apart.Squabbles began and we both could see that it was going to effect the kids if we continued on. We tried to make it better, but it was too late-the rot had set in.We divorced and went on to new lives. Now we are both happy and successful in our new relationships.
Maybe its time for Eric and John to have a good look their action on the ASFC family.

That is the best analogy of the situation I have seen yet. I for one think it is time for JC and JB to move to pastures new. Yes they have been our most succesful management team ever aand I thank them for that, but it is now getting stale and as others have said, perhaps only 800 home supporters turned up on Wednesday against Rochdale, how many are they expecting against Chesterfield, because the numbers will not be as high from the away supporters for a while yet. We will be lucky to have a crowd of 1200 next week. Things have got to change, and the sooner the better. We need a new strike force, midfield and defence, lets face it a new team. There are a few members of the current team I would keep, but not all of them. And why oh why are we not giving Martin Fearon a go in goal? Give Bav's a break

I'm still not convinced that we do need a new team. Most of the present team would be perfectly adequate for the job - if only they were given tactics to work to and some sense of organisation. It is beyond belief that today we used four midfield players as strikers - and had a striker on the bench all the time. So many of the players seem to have lost confidence. As an example, I believe that Proccy was reluctant to shoot on Wednesday. Can this be the same Proccy who has been so eager to score from 25 yards on so many occasions in the past? How can our consistently dominant central defender be taken off today after only 27 minutes? I wonder what his thoughts are.

Chesterfield turned round a deficit to win at MK last week. Their assistant manager who attended Accy v Rotherham said there was nothing wrong with the Stanley players - its just that they could not "cope" with the formation they were expected to play.
