Drums

Heard a rumour the drums are to be banned for next season, anyone from the club shed some light on this? Would be nice to know sooner rather than later, as I had planned to have the drum re-skinned, but not much point if it's banned

Re: Drums

Don't know if he can be trusted, but Baldy said as the result of last night's meeting with nearby residents the drum won't be played next season.

I think it'll be a great shame because it really adds to the atmosphere, and ninety minutes a fortnight or so, isn't a lot to put up with.

Get yourself a really loud trumpet, if it has been banned.

Re: Drums

Will singing and chanting also be banned ? Will you not be able to cheer when Stanley score, I am sure that that is louder than the drum.

Re: Drums

On what basis has the drums been banned????

Shame cos when the drum ain't banging you soon notice the atmosphere go flat & next season we could do with all the fan noise behind the team

I didn't think that the residents could hear the drum without a roof.

Re: Drums

we need to keep the peace with the locals but how many would have been happy with just banning it at night games?

Lets have a roof then we will not need a drum

Re: Drums

yeah think just banning it at night games is a good idea i think thats what southport do...as we found out.... they cant really complain about noise at 3pm on a saturday afternoon cause they moved next a football club!

But at a evening its not what most of us would want to here in more or less out back garden!

A new song for the Ultras.

I hear the sound of distant drums
Far away, far away
And if they call for me to come
Then I must go, and you must stay.

Re: Drums

Wouldn't have a problem with it being banned for evening matches, but like most have said, the atmosphere dies a bit when the drums stop. And 90 minutes a fortnight isn't gonna kill ya.
