Re: Duo's questions and answers
always looking to strengthen anywhere on the field.
I asked whether the duo felt let down by the clubs inability to inform the fans that (eg) players are unfit to play etc and whether that put extra pressure on them, unnecessarily. They replied that we don't put on the website that a player is ill as it gives the opposition a bit of a heads up as to who is playing or not playing

It was me that asked Bav's and Cav about this and they both stated that's what the coley had wanted...didn't want to repeat this on the night as didn't want to get players in some kind of trouble

Re: Duo's questions and answers
Right I have asked UK Cowboy what his winning question was as I was a bit vague to what it was....
Tactical question...after you (coley) publicly slated in the press (which he admitted he did) 2 defenders and stating there would be changes made, many fans were interested and excited of the prospect of a changed defensive line up..only for the defenders in question were in the starting line up afor the next game and one of them was wearing the captains armband, why say you are going to make changes and then change nothing?????
The reply was lack of options in the central midfield and jimmy then stated he believed pete was talking about the morecambe game that we won 1-0, however pete/sarah are sure it was mk dons which we lost 5-0 and after some checking through the press articles I have found they are quite correct match_analysis_accrington_stanley_1_rochdale_2

Re: Duo's questions and answers
Yes it was MK dons & that dreaded 5-0 defeat, yes Rocky was made captain [unbelievable] which many of us on the thread was in heavy discussion about why he got the captaincy never mind why he was actually playing after previous poor play by him
Good Q Pete & brave, tho surprisingly didnt have the answers seemingly then, at that time captaincy should of gone to Bav's least for his effort if nowt else with a poor defence line

Re: Duo's questions and answers
.. just remembered another one. John admitted that if Mullin had left then McEvilly would have stayed and would have become his number 1 number 10 (so to speak). He reckoned that we couldn't really accomodate them both as they are both similar players but Mullin takes precedence due to his long service, 20 0dd goals a season and the fact that we will get another 2 1/2 years out of him.

Re: Duo's questions and answers
Thank God Mully decided to stay then - a world with McEvilly as our no. 1 striker would have been a nightmare!

Re: Duo's questions and answers
Ok we have given info on what we have all can remember being asked and what the answers were, but out of those on here that attended, did you feel more positive after listening to what they had to say and how they answered questions...also few of us continued to chat with them after the session had ended...
For those of you that didn't attend, what are your thoughts on a whole to the info we have given you?
I felt it was a definite positive move by them both and felt more positive afterwards and don't feel they ducked any questions at all

Re: Duo's questions and answers
From the info on the questions that were asked they have both been honest and not ducked out of anything which is what I would expect from them. It's always easy to knock from the outside without knowing the inside track of what goes on day to day and hopefully now people may now have a better understanding of where we are and where we would like to be.

Re: Duo's questions and answers
Everyone knows I'm not one of evil's biggest fans, but no one can dispute that he has scored straight away everytime he has gone out on loan so maybe what coley said about being too similar in style to mullers makes sense on why he didn't do much for us!

Re: Duo's questions and answers
The fact that he has scored on debuts, means he does have the ability but not when donning a stanley shirt

I agree with that. But some of the answers are still rather odd. Just as one example, the question of defending the goal line at corners. Messrs Ferguson, Wenger, Grant & Hughes (or should it be van der Saar, Almunia/Lehmann, Cech & Friedel) - and that's just for starters - would not agree with JC and JB on this issue.

Re: Duo's questions and answers
I felt that it reinforced my opinion that without these two at the helm we would indeed be lost without without a prayer.
A newcomer would not share the same passion with which they go about their daily job and when asked whether morale was at the all time low that has been reported they denied it and said that it had never been better, although it was quiet after the Posh mauling. It was one of the reasons they were so keen for Craney to come back as he is the no 1 joker in the pack.
A newcomer would not have the same relationship with Eric as they have and they are in a position where they can argue with the Chairman whereas a newbie certainly wouldn't.
Yes, they have their failings. yes, they can frustrate the heck out of us sometimes but much of this is down to sheer ability to get the right men in and a newcomer would also have the same poor budget to work with. Coley admitted that this season his signings had failed to acheive their usual high standards, but much of us would think that when signed they were amongst the highest calibre set of players since the Unibond signings (pound for pound). Miles, Carden and Branch all came with glowing references from fans of their previous club, they were all players whose signatures were wanted by other clubs higher up the Pyramid than us. Roscoe was the doubt with all his injuries but he overcame them and impressed the fans. Not a lot, due to his inconsistency and inability to finish the one on ones - but he did impress. Roberts also impressed many of the fans due to his swashbuckling style of defending. We put some of his errors down to covering for others, but Coley thinks otherwise and we have to go with his decision.
We have struggled along with a poor budget and poor facilities since forever it seems., yet they have still managed to put together a team that is not too far away from being a good team. What work could they do if we could double our home crowd and give em more money?

Re: Duo's questions and answers
..... just remembered another question.
when asked whether we have good working relationships with other local clubs John said that he had never had any troubles dealing with Preston, Burnley, Liverpool but Blackburn had never been particularly co-operative.
