Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
I feel sorry for Andy Holt, hes pouring good money into our great little club, and those guiding the ship, dont seem to be able to hold a pee up in a brewery, The sensible tactic should be to attract more fans, not lose the few they got, its really pathetic in my view.

probebly trying to get in the record books for the lowest attendance by a league club in the fa cup third round. we had an earlier thread on how to increase our gates. that,ll be quiet for a while now i think.

haven,t decided what to do yet. started reffing again on saturday afternoon so it could be the choice of forking out 15 quid or receiving 30 pound match fee.

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
Whilst we all have different views lets remember ASFC are in the 3rd Round of the FA Cup. Most of us can remember playing Colchester at this stage in 2003/4 (?) with almost 4000 home fans in attendance.
This will be a "full blooded" match with 2 teams believing they can make R4. Whilst we're both in L2 I'm sure it won't be contested by 2 line ups of squad players. There's also £67k in prize money for the winners
I'm told when the Board set the prices they took into account that ASFC will be paying out around £10k in matches expenses and will only receive 45% of the nett profit.
Every penny of income counts at ASFC and additional match revenue can add to the playing budget for the January window.
Surely it's better for match revenue to pay the running costs and allow Andy Holt's investments to go to providing the infra-structure for the long term future??

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
I think all our fans know how much every penny counts at Stanley, trouble is at this time of year especially every penny counts at home too & if it would've been possible to make the game slightly cheaper, not only would it have helped out our loyal fans but could also have boosted the gate by tempting some neutrals &/or Rovers & Burnley fans whose teams are both playing down south that day.
I know it's not the club's fault that we've drawn such an unattractive fixture but with a bit of tweaking maybe it could've been marketed to make it more so, just my opinion

Reckon most people know every penny of income counts, which is why office staff treating fans like rubbish is stupid.

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
I hope MR T will report back to the powers that be that a big trick has been missed. They want us to £20 to watch a match against a team we have never beaten at home. We have to believe but the club need to be more aware of the stresses and other commitments people have at this time of year. A Tenner would have been tempting to other fans. When long time true supporters are making these comments then the Management need to be listening. We are all behind the club and the team despite having a whinge and a moan. We do make constructive suggestions as well. f we have a gate of 4000 I will show my backside on the town hall steps. If the club are serious about increasing the attendance then listen to the fans. Accountants know the cost of opening the club but very little about the value of making it cost effective to attend. Given the way the club has handled customer services and relations shows a lack of nounce. I don't know how often these in charge need to be told before they grasp the real problem.

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
It would appear that the board think more about trying to make money out of a big away support than attract more home fans and neutrals.
And as for Mr T's pathetic comparison between a non league Stanley competing in the cup against league opposition with a chance of winning and another game against Luton who are in the same league and we have played umpteen times. are the club really that out of touch?
And as for ticketing, I was at the Cheltenham game and wanted to buy a Blackpool ticket but I couldn't because they were only on sale during office hours. Way to go because that came within a whisker of one less ticket sold. And as for paying with a card, you have to pay in the shop then take the receipt to the ticket booth. Who came up with that bright idea, or is it a case that I am lucky I can buy with a card?
Sometimes I wonder why I put the effort in.

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
Come on you lot. We are in the 3rd round and 90.%likely to triumph in an exciting thriller and be in the 4th round and draw a massive club like Leeds.
Everything else is trivial.
Just get yourselves down on the day and enjoy the occasion. If you end up spending an extra 5 mins with unfathonable beauracracy I'm sure you will cope.

I agree. Luton at home, never beaten them at the Crown Ground. David versus Goliath, our team on a poor run of form. We've no chance. ...and I can't wait for 2017. I'll be there.....COME ON STANLEY......

Re: Emirates FA Cup Draw Round 3
The club have missed another trick
If they publicised buying a 3rd round ticket will guarantee you a 4th round ticket, they would shift a lot more tickets

The exact same "policy" as Woking!! I'll mention it to Coley; it won't be popular!!
