Re: Eric stands down

According to fishy site "A deal that will see David O'Neill take the majority of the previous chairman's shareholding will be completed this week."

Doesn't sound like Eric has sold all his shares to David O'Neill just the majority of them, so at any meeting if Eric and David O'Neill vote the same way they will win every vote. Instead of Eric making all the decisions it seems it will now be David and Eric

Re: Eric stands down

This is a bench make day in the life of “Our Club” despite the troubles of the last few months we owe Eric Whalley a Debt of Gratitude as big as the man himself, both for the years of commitment and service to Accrington Stanley and the life blood he give all of us over those years; and also for the tremendous gesture that he has given to the club today by stepping down; that gesture is the potential rebirth of the Club and a fighting chance for our future. What he’s done today can not have been easy, and although he is likely to stay on the board; today would have been like selling a child. Well done Mr. Whalley, no matter what anyone says or thinks we owe you……

Welcome Mr O'Neil, now then....about this footbal club of ours..........

I was very happy when I read the announcement but it seems he hasn't gone yet and could still have a say in how things are run, so instead of a big smile it will just be a smirk until the details emerge.

Got to say this is a fair reflection of what has gone on and what Eric has done for The Stanley over the years Eric, thank you for everything you have done for us and thanks for stepping aside to enable us to move forwards...

Re: Eric stands down

I would like to say good luck to the new people who are running the club. Eric has done good, but the time had come for fresh approaches to be made.
