Interesting half-time stats on TV.
0-0 in clear-cut chances (I wonder if Andrews agrees) 12-1 in shots in our favor. And oh yes, an extra goal to us.
Might need it, because Salford cannot possibly be as poor for the next 45.

It seemed to me that all the 'pretty ' play by the Salford defence around their box would inevitably result in a slip-up resulting in a goal !..and for once I was right !..
ON STANLEY.. ON !

Thought we deserved the three points. Only saw the last 3/4 but I thought Shaun Whalley was great. How someone could get into his head to play him as a second striker is beyond belief.
Good to see Woods get some game time, and Hills is a very good defender.
Thought we would get hammered today. Happy to be wrong!

Re: "Evidently Chickentown".......Salford thread

Brilliant today from Stanley. Controlled the game in the first half and kept "Salford Moneybags" mostly quiet. Second half Salford offered more and played well in spells but created very little. We could have had a third on at least two occasions but their keeper and the cross-bar saved them. Great defending by Jay Rich to head a six yard shot onto our cross-bar.

All-round a great performance. Hope the injuries to Tommy and Jay-Rich are only knocks.

Well done Stanley......

Thought the team gave us everything today in every department and fully deserved the 3 points. Just hope the two lads who came off injured recover well. Supporters behind the goal also played their part with the noise they made. Really hope we can push on with the form we showed today. Well done Stanley.

He came on and took Roz's position at left back, allowing Roz to play further up in midfield on the left hand side ahead of him. Looks quite tall so can see why he can play as a centre back as well as a defender on the left side. Did well as a left back, good positional play. Nothing outstanding, but as its his first 20 minutes with the players I'd say he did OK. In his first appearance there were no mistakes, poor fouls or disasters.

Re: "Evidently Chickentown".......Salford thread

On Salford,s fan forum they are least saying that Salford are poor not taking anything away from Stanley a lot giving in already to spend their Saturday,s on the allotment a lot more satisfying according to one. Oh dear are their famous owners beginning to lose interest could be it's a pattern Sugar Daddy owned clubs seem unfortunately to follow leaving broken clubs and fans in there wake without a bit of empathy.
