Re: Exhibition launch pictures

It looks just the Job. Going to try and get over one afternoon later in the week, don’t get a lot of time these day’s. The photos look good, but I’d love to see a permanent detailed photographic record of the objects and the display boards.

What does stand out, is the commitment and determination of all those behind the exhibition and the work that’s been put into it. These people deserve to be recognised and the best way of doing that is to turn up and view the exhibition in its true Stanley glory, I hope the club and all Stanley Supporters the world over really appreciates what these people have done.

What is the chance of a Special Issue Programme style photographic publication of the exhibition and all its contents, both to raise income for the club and to act as a window for those who can’t get to see it in life, as well as something we can keep for the future?

I'm kinda working on it Doug. I have scanned in as much as possible such as programme covers, badges, scrapbooks, football shirts etc but I am torn between trying to knock something out quickly or trying to go a long haul thing. Take the badges for example - it is an incomplete collection and of limited interest, but I have a contact, maybe, in Yorkshire who reportedly has all 8 of the pre '62 badges. If I can get over to scan those it then becomes more of a collection and would be of interest to badge collectors as well.

I would like to produce an exhaustive catalogue of all known Stanley memorabilia as many people have stuff but didn't contribute it to the Exhibition - maybe those people would allow me to photograph it?

I'll let you know soon.

Talking Re: Exhibition launch pictures

Just got back from Accy Library - LOADS of information - well laid out and lots of work has gone into it. Saw my shirts pinned up etc. Signed the book as did Lesley - just a shame about the Xbox - hope the missing controller is returned as there was loads of kids coming in whilst we were there just to play on that! Well done everyone involved - top notch exhibition. Even Lesley who isnt a great football fan enjoyed reading all the old articles from the paper and seeing the old record attendances being broken along the history line of the club etc and laughing at 13,000 gates only bringing in £340-odd quid! EEE those wer' days.... A really good couple of hours reading and all the kids stuff like the poems etc were really good to see too... Fans of the future Hope part of the exhibition can be permanently located somewhere at the ground - would be great for even non Accy fans young and old to see. Good job OSC, made me even prouder to be a Stanley fan...
