Fan arrests

BBC Sport - Football - Football-related arrests in 2008/09 decrease by 2%

Just read the above article on the BBC. Have Stanley had anyone banned from any football grounds?

This seems to be the source for the information and includes lower leagues:

Re: Fan arrests

Always the usual suspects on there with most arrests, cardiff, west ham, man united. According to that second link it says we have 1 banning order on our fans

Just had an upset Mr Schultz on

WE HAVE ZERO BANING ORDERS/ ARRESTS

The arrested fan at the Crown was from Rochdale and that stat should be on Rochdale's away figures.

Accy fans are LOUD and PROUD and the Club are grateful for their FANtastic support

Cheers for that Mr. T I just did not think that we had any trouble makers, even though those idiots at Elland Road, tried to make it look as though we did!!!

Re: Fan arrests

Id rather of been banned when i got chucked out at Leeds! That would of mean i wouldnt of had the need to visit that s**t hole again!

However what a fantastic figure, i think all league stewards should view this!! and then they shall know what to expect when we visit them!!

its a figure that young uns can be proud of IMHO, think its the various clubs responsibility though to view those figures n then tell the stewards what to expect,

Mr S and Accy police are already on the case. However trying to get Government stats changed will be quite a task I imagine!!!

no doubt, may be worth contacting the local media about it though pointing out this error, also will be good publicity.way i see it, some people still have a "Blinkered" view about trouble at football matches, such n article could not do any harm at all.

Statistics on arrests and banning orders
Wednesday 23rd Dec 2009

Accrington Stanley seek correction on figures

Accrington Stanley have made an official request to the Home Office to correct figures released yesterday showing statistics on arrests and banning orders at football matches.

The statistics show that of the 3,180 banning orders in place on football supporters, one is related to an Accrington Stanley fan, however this is incorrect and Safety Officer Mick Schultz has this morning been seeking to have this corrected "It may only be one, but it is one that shouldn't be on the record, the incident relates to an away fan in the away end of our ground but it has been incorrectly attributed to our club."

When the figures are corrected they will show only two clubs in the top four tiers of English football with no supporters with a banning order against them, just ourselves and Torquay have this honour.

Mick continued "We are very proud of the fact that Accrington Stanley is amongst the safest places in the country to watch a game of football. We are very keen to attract young people and families to our club and providing a safe and friendly environment for them to come to is of course key to this."

Good to see the folks at Stanley are on the case and a big well done to Mick Schultz for chasing this one up, also I suspect Mr. T had a little bit to do with it!

Re: Fan arrests

This would be good if it could be put in the paper on one of the first few pages in the observer. It would deffinatly attract more familys to come! For e.g , say it got 10 familys the next game to come and its a family of 4, its still another 40 people. And then they bring their friends etc and then the kids hear about the Match day club, the kids go to the match day club and then the adults bring their friends to the game and have a pint etc. Its just a big circle And a circle that can be done if the efforts made!!
