Now, now, Mr, Y, don't go mixing your Dav's and Carpon's up. I think Dav has already intimated that he'll be gracing us with his presence on the Clayton End for this coming campaign. A good omen I hope!

I think the essence of DAV007's post is just to discourage fans from basing any unrealistic expectations upon last season's wonderful achievements. We've got a totally different team and JC/JB are continually suffering the consequences of the idiocy on high. Be hopeful, obviously, but never take for granted where we are. Couldn't agree more Shaker...and as I've said elsewhere ,John Coleman and Jimmy Bell always, in my humble opinion, aim to produce the BEST they can with what they have...and who can argue with such ?.

Re: Fans Mindset for this season
Loving how we have four of Liverpool's FA Youth Cup winning team of 2007 signed up. Very attacking players, too.

Re: Fans Mindset for this season
Well well at last ladies and gents! I, of course, never doubted for a moment !!!!!!!
Now then with the lads JC has brought in I reckon we could be in the top 10 come the end of the season, I am therefore off to Ladbrokes in the morning with £20 to lay a bet on our guys!! How's that for optimism, not bad for a Scot huh!!!!?
Roll on Saturday

Re: Fans Mindset for this season
We have some tough opening fixtures.
It would be easy for the fans to get on the players backs as the team is relativly new and will take time to grow and develop together.
Furthermore, its a small squad and I am concerned we lack a 15 goal a season striker.
I dont think its a lack of ambition to say 22nd is success, all things are relative.
However, I also share the opinion JC and JB may work wonders again and get us nearer to the top half than bottom.
See you all saturday.

[quote=carpon;833465]
Coley will, assuming the wage constraints permit, be able to sign a couple on loan and there is of course, the mystery midfielder who is due to sign, who if the L.E.T (Friday 30/07/10) is to be believed, is apparently such a prospect, that the club are unwilling to diverge upon this lads identity until all the signing details are completed.
quote]
Im assuming that the mystery midfielder is Charlie Bennett.
I feel we are all setting our expectations low. Yes we have lost Grant, Kempson and Symes. However Symes wasnt as prolific in the second part of the season. Grants shoes are major to fill however we always found shoes in the past - Prendegast > Roberts > Grant.
I feel we should be aiming for improving upon last season.

I think we will do well, provided we have a couple who can cross the ball well, n play the passing game.

Re: Fans Mindset for this season
- Prendegast > Roberts > Grant > McConville we never knew we had a 15goal sesson striker last sesson and we ended up having two very good goal scores who it was gutting to lose!!
