Fantastic Season
Whatever happens, this has been a fantastic season...
The Play-Offs will always bring glory or depression, and with teams like Preston and Sheffield to look towards, I suppose it is even more disappointing, if it doesn't happen, but it shouldn't be..... Accrington Stanley fans are the best in the world... not because of their numbers, but because they DO believe... believe in PROPER football..... you only have to go in the Crown before a game with a large away following, like against Newcastle United, and see the passion, the faith and the loyalty... but also the belief that football is not about fighting or abusing the opposition, but by supporting YOUR club. I remember going to watch the ice hockey at Manchester, many moons ago when Manchester Storm were getting gates over 10,000. The commentator always announced the teams witha eminder... " we do not boo the opposition, we just shout twice as loud for our team"..... That is something that has struck me over the years (since the unibond), that the support of the team is what it is all about. And, as for the team... what a bunch of warriors we have. They don't get paid when they should, have not had a proper training ground until recently, and work on one of the worst pitches in the league (if not THE worst)...BUT.... have the BEST manager (s) - in the football league and show the best team spirit against all the odds. Whatever happens on Friday, we should stay loud and proud for Accrington Stanley..... and the best season ever...... |
