Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
to light a candle you pick the candle up and offer it towards the lighter rather than vice-versa.
stanleys' it is hoped will become the brand of Stanley. The long term goal is high up as possible. The 'brand' can be applied to (example) a Supporters Bar, a shop in town etc. If the people get behind the idea and buy products from us on a regular basis then these ideas can work. We will have cheap, tacky, novelty items and we will have more expensive, nicer, quality items. We will also have a range of products that goes down the middle.
The launch products will be:
3 t-shirts @ £5
A Coley image (retro-similar to Guevara in design)
A silhouhetted image of fans waving flags with 'we are they' underneath.
A 'Cart-On Stanley' design influenced by the Coca-Cola design
An £8 layered t-shirt. A long sleeve shirt really but looks like it has a t-shirt over the top.
A £12 polo shirt. This of a superior weight and fabric than your average polo and is in white with red colourings on it.
£5 petrol lighters. Obviously not Zippo at that price but still a good weight and feel to them. They are highly poilished and the engraving on them is absolutely tip top standard. Come in a plastic display case. Around 10 already sold, 40 left
£9 Umbrellas. 30" round bottomed handle and in red and white quarters. This will be a limited run of 50 and we have already pre-sold around 15.
£4 re-usable shopping bages. Made from a bio-degradable cotton and with long handles. Initial order of 20. These are all the rage at the moment and me mum reckons they'll sell out quickly.
A range of £5 baseball caps in blue, red, white, black. They are a low profile six panelled cap and will feature the logo embroidered on the front.
£7 hi-viz baseball caps. Similar to the standard one but in greeny-yellow (orange may be available later for the railway workers amngst you) with a hi-viz strip across the peak.
There will also be a large range of Supporters Club paper products such as historical booklets charting the progree of the club through the years, stickers albums, posters, postcards, birthday and christmas cards. It may take alittle onger to have these products on the shelf but they will be ready before the new season.
A set of core values has been established that basically ensure that we will only sell quality items at the right price. We do have to make a profit but we are not obliged to make a percentage mark-up as most companies would. Therefore we will add to the range at some point with unbranded products that should be markedly cheaper from us than on the high street. We can also secure workwear at prices cheaper than I have ever seen commercially available. A 50% mark up would still ensure this is cheaper than you would normally buy at.
We also want to be on the ball as regards topical merchandise. If we have a cup run we will have a t-shirt ready to react to that by 2 days after the draw. If we wanted to have everybody on the terrace wearing a plain red t-shirt, we could do that ridiculously cheaper. We would like to fund hand-outs for events like the Carnival (not this time though unfortunately). Hand outs such as red and white stanleys' balloons, whistles, toffees - whatever.
Just remember all along the way - this is our club. Everything we do is for the good of the club, every pound we make is for the development of the club. Every product we shift is rasing the profile of the club. It is not Official Club merchandise but it is Official Supporters Club merchandise. I will stand next to anybody selling hooky gear outside the ground and sell our stuff over his head. Lets not let money and revenue go anywhere other than back into the club.
The logo was designed specifically so as to differentiate from Offical club stuff. It was designed to avoid the complexities of printing the crest and to avoid the cost of the four/five colours of the crest. It was designed to be able to stand alone from the club or the OSC to avoid funding and copyright issues. I can't see our chairman trying to stop us selling but any future chairman might. The people behind this operation are all committed die hard supporters and we shall endeavour to supply our fans with the products they require and to supply our club with the revenue it needs.
Please keep an eye out where ever possible for our new launches. We will have a newly revamped website fully operational before the new season begins. It will feature an online shop where anybody can order from. We will be represented at this years Carnival, Mela and Barrowford Show. We have sanctioned the purchase of a 20' x 10' party tent that will give us more of a presence at these events so please come over and have a chat with us if you see us.

Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
I hate to be picky, but as "there's only one Accy Stanley" it should be
Stanley's
not
Stanleys'
Best wishes from the Lynne Truss society for correct apostrophisation

Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
I was ready for this one.
apostrophe after the s denotes belonging to; apostrophe before the s denotes a letter missing as in Stanley is; no apostrophe denotes plural.
the brand belongs to Stanley therefore is Stanleys' brand

Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
didn't get time to edit it.
The stanley branding will apply to many different avenues of revenue (hopefully) therefore would be Stanley brand s.
Thats where my multiple comes in
ie Stanleys' brands (now that is wrong because there is still only the one stanley but when the general brand becomes stanley (no capital neither) and there are numerous of them, it becomes stanleys'
It could also refer to a load of people called Stanley
You are more right than me Chimer but I am not accepting incorrectness because it is deliberately ambiguous

Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
Happy with that - we're all Stanleys, so they belong to all of us.

Well done Rob, if you where a bird I’d kiss you, then again maybe not. I’ll be over for some goodies when the range is in stock. Please hold back a lighter for me and I’ll pay when I send you my subs. There’s a pm on the way re tonight.

Re: First Item on sale at the OSC Do friday night
Feedback comes in two forms, good and bad, to the point I don't like the Stanleys' brand. I want to wear stuff that shows I support Accrington Stanley. I want to wear a t-shirt whether at work or on holiday that people can see it's an Accy Stanley t-shirt, Stanleys' does not work for me sorry to be blunt Rob but that's my opinion.
