Re: First signing ....
Liddle is decent but as a pure defender he is too small, defenders of his size are usually utilised as wingbacks, at this time there is a wealth of players unattached,
Maybe if the budget allows we should be looking at players like Troy Brown a decent player who has been released by Aldershot and was previously with Rotherham

Disagree. I have not seen many giant wingers so I cannot see height as a problem. He is taller than Philipp Lahm who is one of the best full backs of this generation.

This is exactly the point I was making Liddle is a primary defender he is not a wingback such as lahm and being a primary defender his height is an issue

Sorry - you've lost me there. He is no more or less a wing back than Lahm. He has supported both Moly and Wilson in left wing attacks extremely well. The fact is that we do not play with wing backs. At the risk of entering football19 territory, I thought wing backs were used in a 3 - 5 - 2 formation - not a formation that we use.

Re: First signing ....
Now now gentlemen, you know wing backs operate when you play three centre backs, acci very rarely went down that avenue, good to watch, but you always conceded, just like Wigan !!!!

I can’t agree with that statement Lahm had 11 assists for Bayern Munich
Liddle very rarely advances over the half way line and I can’t remember him achieving an assists last season

Re: First signing ....
Not about quantity and having a Big Squad more about having quality and limiting numbers, I would say 18 plus a few loanees would be adequate for Stanley.
At the End of the Day it comes out of the same budget pot.
