Fishy site thoughts please
Time for a bit of a change.. Can you please have a look and test. Removing the side menu and replacing with a drop down. That gives us more space for the news items. more pics or better layour. Also some of the pages we had to drop adverts as we needed the width like on fixtures.. but not now ...
Tested on IE 6 and 7 and Firefox... It probably falls over wiht opera I dunno.. Appricate TM or whoever trying with a mac..

Re: Fishy site thoughts please
Just given it a quick go with Safari and Firefox on the Mac and it all seems to work ok. Only tried the drop-down menus and a few links from there, but everything seemed fine.

Re: Fishy site thoughts please
Not your department, Tony, but the 'visiting fans' page contains the following:
'The three pubs closest to the ground are The Grey Horse, (5 mins walk away) and The Greyhound (5 Mins walk away)'.
The site looks much better with the changes.

Re: Fishy site thoughts please
Just a quick observation......
I went on the "sponsorship" page, & noticed that there isn't a link back to the home page.
In fact there doesn't seem to be one on any page.

Clicking top of every menu item. or clicking on the big pick at top of page or selecting latest news..all will take you back.. but none obvious... So there probably should be a more obvious button... i will get that sorted... thanks

Re: Fishy site thoughts please
The Nav bar its self looked better beforehand - and if you decide to keep it as it is now I would swap the rollover colours of the bar... at the moment it doesn't match the rest of the site until it is rolled over... it should be the otherway around so the majority fits in and the selected one is brighter.
You may also want to align the store sponsers pictures etc to the left as it is no longer centered.

Re: Fishy site thoughts please
I am not a big fan of it myself.. But julie worked very hard on the menu. getting one thats cross browser as well as backward compat so I put it in... Thats why I started the thread.. I like the side menu..it makes the site look busier..But the top menu has other advantages and will be liked by other people.
But we have had the same site for a couple of years... great looking , works well... but same same same.. had to try a change eh?
I prefer the side menu... maybe a vote?
