Friday Night Football
I have always found the atmosphere increased on a friday night and seems like the public respond. Im not suggesting we never play on the traditional saturday 3pm but I would like to see an increased amount of friday home games next season. I know daggers is coming up on a friday but it seems ages ago since the last. Just wondering what people on here think

Re: Friday Night Football
I like 'em! There's a totally different feel from a midweek night match - a kind of "the weekend starts here" atmosphere. Always enjoy them myself - straight up from work, into the chippy, a couple of beers, watch the match, a few more beers, then crash out in a B&B and back home the morning afterwards to take Mrs H out for the day. Still think 3pm on Saturday is footy time, but I wouldn't mind seeing a few more Friday night matches next season.

Re: Friday Night Football
I know people who only go when its a friday night match as they play saturday afternoons or work alot of them. I agree with the friday feeling thing begining of the weekend etc. I think from the 2 seasons spent in the FL the club should access the games which arnt as appealing with lower attendances and low away following and possibly move them to fridays.

Re: Friday Night Football
I like Friday night games, they keep the weekend free, the wife happy, and me out of the pub .
Also it means my son can go as he plays every Saturday.

Re: Friday Night Football
Friday night is no good to me as I have a 300 mile round trip by train and bus and I'm sure there will be more like that. There may be a few more Stanley fans there for the Dag & Red game but given the Saturday crowds will it be many more? Plus you can forget about a decent turn out fron Dag & Red on a Friday night but given we are not a new ground for them it might not make that much of a difference.

Re: Friday Night Football
theres plusses n minuses for friday night games, minuses what about existing fans that work shifts/have season tickets? what about fans who travel a fair distance on a sat,cos they live too far to get up after work friday? are you prepared too lose those people, in the hope attendances will increase? cos if they dont its pointless having em, Tranmere played Fri nights for donkeys years cos either Liverpool or Everton would be home on sat, i dont honestly know if it was beneficial, but i doubt it cos they now play sats.

Re: Friday Night Football
I like a smattering of friday night matches through the season, it makes the weekend seem longer
The dag and redbridge game is on good friday so wonder if that will make more travel as most won't be at work that day!!

Re: Friday Night Football
Daggers game is on 4th April HR, Good Friday is 21st March. It's confusing cos the school 'Easter' holidays aren't actually at Easter this year for some unknown reason. They just get Good Friday & Easter Monday off and then have 2 weeks off in April ??
Forgot to say - I like a few Friday night games in the season but saying that I am then confused as to what to do with my Saturday

Re: Friday Night Football
Personally I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of evening football, no matter what day. It doesn't suit everyone, but there's always room for the odd Friday match now and again, preferably against local opposition.

Re: Friday Night Football
The opposition have to agree to it don't they? unless it's a decision to play all your games on that day/night.
Personally I like em because the atmosphere is far better at night and it feels like a night out afterwards (well, it is). Though I agree that the majority should be saturdays always.
I'd make Hereford a friday just to annoy em!
