Funds Raiser?
BBC - 606 - - A52494906 - Fundraising Idea
I was just reading on 606 a suggestion to make a bit of money for the club. Do you have any suggestions, and do you know if it is at all possible?

Re: Funds Raiser?
I have a fantastic fundraising idea,
1) Pick up the phone
2) Dial Mr Khan's number
3) Gratefully accept the £250,000 he has offered and apologise that it took so long in doing so.
Job done.

Re: Funds Raiser?
I thing many people will have been turning ideas over in there minds over the last few day, I think the OSC know how difficult it can be and there is only a so much that a small number of people can do.
An All Star XI might be a good one along with a full day's entertainment pre match with a big barby post match, but you would need the club to back it.

Re: Funds Raiser?
A friendly match on the theme of 'the match' which is on sky tv which an ex players team play celebs for charity, but in this instance an accy stanley squad play the people of accrington squad of approx 22 picked from an open day trial. Im sure it could generate some interest from the accy public and media whilst keeping a fun theme and making a bit of money at the same time. Just a crazy idea. The others are obvious begging letters to our surrounding giants proposing a friendly away where we can have a generous amount of gate receipts.

Re: Funds Raiser?
A Lancashire Tournement was a regular thing in the 80's, well run by the County FA, on a mini league basis, with the winners going on to represent the county in the Isle of Man ( the following year)
However like all things these organising well in advance. Next pre-season would be the soonest such a competion could be put together IMHO. Most clubs have got there pre-season programmes already sorted, and all you will get now is mixed youth + reserve teams of most "big" clubs.
Also bear in mind recently we have played Wolves, Cardiff, Preston Res, with less than 1000 on at each match. Such games just about cover the costs, they don't raise massive amounts.
Keep the ideas's coming, I'm sure some of them will be feaseable
