Re: General Feeling
The mood around the club will to a large extent always be dictated by what happens on the field of play.

Re: General Feeling
If the so called directors don't want anything to do with the day to day running of the club then they should step down and let somebody who will.
I wouldn't mind getting more involved with the club and helping out on a voluntary basis but like Dan and most fans I have 50 hours a week to graft so I can peek over the breadline.

Re: General Feeling
The only crumb of comfort (and it is a crumb) that I can take at the moment is that despite the shocking run of results we’ve had, we are not getting hammered week in, week out.
We have lost 6 and drawn 1 of the last seven league games. Of these 6 defeats, they have all been by a single goal. Three of these were after going 2-0 down.
Let’s get at ‘em early tomorrow and get some shots on goal to at least give us a chance of getting something.
If we’d have scored just ONE more goal in each of the last Seven games, we’d have picked up an extra EIGHT points.
Keep The Faith

Bang outa order imho, Most directors of smaller clubs also have bills to pay, alongside the money they pump into the clubs, n at many small clubs very few of em can involve in day to day running, bigger clubs pay people to do the job, aint n option i think wi stanley, so imho thats a very cheap shot.

Re: General Feeling
A big ten days ahead for the Club three games one away & two at home nine points to play for and a genuine chance to turn everything on it's head.
Time to strep up to the mark there can be no more excuses.

Maybe time for some of the Directors to get a grip of things and show some leadership and business acumen.
I know it's easy from a distance to criticise but, as Lancsdave has shown, I'm sure there are folk around the area who might be willing and able to help run the day-to-day business of the club or certain aspects of it, if only they were asked in the right way by the right people.

One particular Professional person I know has actually offered their services on no less than three separate occasions this person helps many business's large & small on all manner of things right across the North West so people are offering but not being taken up for whatever reason?

Re: General Feeling
I’m obviously disappointed by our tally of points, as I’m sure is every fan, player & staff member, that’s the past, now if we want a better future for our club then it’s up to us as fans to believe in the team and give them the confidence to produce better results, moans & resignation will never infuse the team to achieve better results, 3 points away to the Wombles will be a good start, On--Stanley--On

Apologies Cashy I seem to have come across the wrong way I was meaning it in as in who is running the club and making the decisions and anyone onboard just for a meal and a parking space on a saturday afternoon can step down for me (if there is anyone)??

Re: General Feeling
I believe that there are a lot of well-meaning individuals, but a lack of essential skilled people.
Of course, people with skills cost money, so I realise that there are obstacles in the way. However, when skilled people offer their services for free and they're not utilised, I do have to question the rationale behind that thinking.
It's a dilemma, but a company can only bumble along for so long before it all comes crashing down around its ears.

Re: General Feeling
This is not to criticise all the folks who already work hard and help out at the club, without whom it wouldn't have survived for 8 minutes never mind 8 seasons, but I do find it disconcerting that the club appears not to have an MD, or Chief Exec, or whatever you want to call the person who would otherwise have day-to-day (or at least week-to-week) oversight and control of the club's affairs off the pitch.
Maybe someone does have this role, in which case I retract my earlier comment and only ask why the fact isn't more readily known (again, maybe I missed an announcement).
Perhaps, given the state of football in general and Stanley in particular, it is the person who's in charge of the finances that is and should be the club's principal officer.
I only ask because I've no idea and can't find any information on the club's web site.
This compares to what I now know about AFC Wimbledon from 30 minutes reading their informative programme (I know, I know, it's easy for a team based in a wealthy inner-city suburb).
Having said that all that, things on Stanley's web site appear to have got back on track in the last few days as regards communication, for which many thanks to all concerned, and let's hope the recent appointments to the commercial team begin to make a real difference.

How many times over the past years TM has the apparent lack of Management based on sound and accepted principles been identified and criticised where Accrington Stanley FC is concerned ?.
If this is so then it is not too difficult to assume that the accumulation of bad Management Practice over this period has led the Club to the position which you rightly describe as 'bumbling along towards failure '.
A Ship might well be owned by a group of well-meaning Directors, but without a Captain who can produce , introduce to all, implement,
and follow appropriate charts for the vessel's successful voyages, then it will merely sail round in circles, founder and sink on uncharted Rocks, but worst of all, will never reach it's intended destination !.
As you say TM, and to continue this seafaring analogy ( Which I'm sure Revived Red will be mentally shuddering at !) ..Such a Captain would demand high rewards, and might not want to join a Vessel which at present is not quite seaworthy anyway !.
But in my view, without a Managing Director who is at least skilled in the elements of Environment Scanning , Strategy Planning, and Financial management being somehow attracted and installed at the Club, then failure and all it's attendant ramifications looms large...and very real !.
If , as Exile hopes, this has already happened, then I for one will be resting easier at night !.

Re: General Feeling
There's an article on the official site about young 'winger-turned-striker' Max Hazeldine scoring his 4th of the season, missing a penalty, and saying it was 'good to grind out that result'.
What result? Did the academy beat Burnley? Was it a draw? Will we ever know?
