Getting kitted up & World Travel Shop

I finally got my Stanley Scarf this afternoon. I did intend picking a couple up after the match on Saturday but I could get near the shop and couldn’t wait.

I got into the ground this afternoon at 4.30 pm but could get in to the shop from either entrance; I knew the shop would be closing at 5.00 pm so I was a little disappointed.

I had to nip up to Burnley for half hour and then I went back to Accrington town centre to do some last minute shopping. It was when I was returning to the car that I noticed the World Travel Shop on Blackburn Road.

The merchandise was Limited but well displayed and the staff were friendly, polite and very helpful, it was a pleasure to part with my £22 quid and I am more than happy to recommend the shop and the staff..

Disappointment averted, I am now a proud owner of an “Accrington Stanley” Scarf (can we have another raise your scarf day on the 21st please) and a mini scarf in the back of the car, which is a very brave act considering that I attend a considerable number of meetings each year at the Bloomfield Road Ground……..

Many thanks to the staff of World Travel

Re: Getting kitted up & World Travel Shop

Wouldn't worry too much about living near Bloomfield Road, Doug, I live near the JJB in Wigan and display the small scarf in a side window and a full size scarf in the back window of my car, to date no problems yet - depends if Blackpool get relegated this season and we get promotion, then it may be a problem

Re: Getting kitted up & World Travel Shop

I think they still do Mez, I think its brilliant that you can go to so many outlets across the town. I was a little miffed at missing the shop because there are a few bits I want.

I’m taking flak up here from family members who are intent on taking the pee. Out of the remaining family members I am the only Accrington “Church” born member the rest are Shipley and Blackpool, My son is showing signs of conversion which is helpful, but I think he’s just buttering me up for a handout.

Ozzy, I would be delighted to see Blackpool go down and Stanley up, I live quite a way from the Bloomfield Ground, But I attend meetings there on a regular basis, I down side is I tend to park right out side their shop. My partner is demanding I remove the little scarf from the car on the grounds that it will make me a bigger target than I already am? We have come to a standing agreement that I can have a window sticker permanently displayed and the mini scarf can come out on match days….
